Hallo, meine Rechtschreibprüfung in KMail funktioniert nicht richtig. Wörter mit Umlauten werden grundsätzlich als falsch angezeigt. Eingestellt habe ich: ISO 8859-15 und Ispell. Was ist der Unterschied zwischen Ispell und Aspell? Danke Gurß Peter

Nichts geht mehr nach YOU

N'Abend.. also langsam habe ich die Nase gestrichen voll. Habe eben YOU laufen lassen in der Hoffnung, dass einige Probleme sich lösen. Und was ist passiert: X läuft nicht mehr. Musste erst rumhantieren bis die graph. Oberfläche wieder da war. Der Sound läuft nicht mehr, ich kann keine CDs mehr brennen, das System stürzt alle 5 Minuten ab.. ganz super. Und meine ganzen Daten, die auf der Platte sind.. wie soll ich die jetzt auf CD bekommen? .. Aaaaaaaarghhhhhh.. Okay, also jetzt mal konstruktiv: k3b meldet nur noch "cdrecord returned unknown error 1 - Please send an email bla bla".. Kann jetzt gar nichts mehr brennen. cdrecord ist aber installiert, k3b hab ich auch erst ein paar Tage drauf. (Version 0.7.5).. Oh man.. Hoffe es hat jemand ne Idee.. Gruss.. Markus (der echt verzweifelt ist)

Probleme mit APIC

Hallo, wenn sich der Bildschirm der Konsole meiner SuSE 8.1 nach 10 Minuten idle time abschaltet, ist das System tot. Auch über das Netz ist kein Zugriff mehr möglich, ich kann nur noch abschalten. In den Logs gibts leider keine Hinweise. Ich habe dann über Google herausgefunden, dass dieses Problem offensichtlich bereits bei SuSE 7.3 auftreten konnte und durch APM und/oder APIC verursacht werden kann. Wenn ich beide Funktionen disable, ist alles ok. Leider verabschiedet sich VMware 3.2 ohne APIC bei der 8.1 mit einem Speicherzugriffsfehler. Der Knowledgebase von VMware entnehme ich lediglich: 'Please note that SuSE Linux 8.1 is not a supported host operating system for VMware GSX Server 2.0.x or VMware Workstation 3.x.' Ich habe auch den Kernel 2.4.19-214 (Mantel) versucht, leider keine Veränderung. Hat jemand bereits Erfahrung mit Kernel 2.4.20, was die APIC Problematik anbelangt? Oder einen sonstigen Tipp? Gruss horst PS: Das System läuft ansonsten sehr stabil (keine Probleme mit DMA, IDE-Brenner, 3D für NVidia etc.). Es ist nur dieser APIC Kram. Das ist unschön. Insbesondere weil ich mich bei der Wahl des Mainboards auf die Aussage der HW-Datenbank von SuSE verlassen habe (Elitegroup K7S5A: volle Unterstützung durch SuSE 8.x). Oder könnte evtl. auch eine andere HW-Komponente das Problem verursachen?

Allied Telesyn AT-AR215 USB DSL Modem

Hallo, Das Modem wird zwar im Yast (SuSE 8.1) automatisch erkannt mit der Bezeichnung 'ADSL-Modem' aber funktioniert dann trotzdem nicht. (wie erwartet) Jedoch die Voraussetzungen, die in der Dokumentation zum acm - Kernelmodul beschrieben sind, sind teilweise erfüllt (denke ich). Nun wäre meine Frage ob dieser Treiber dennoch irgendwie funktionierern könnte. Netzwerk - Problem

Hallo, ich benutze suse8.0. Die Netzwerkkarte ist VIA-RHINE II. Wenn ich aber die Dateien ueber http runterladen will, kriege ich folgende Fehlermeldung: NET -WATCHDOG: eth0 Transmit timed out, status 0000, PHY status 786d, resetting. reset did not complette in 10 ms Configuration 'ppp0' has STARTMODE = manual: -> skipped As we called from rcnetwork we do not set it because it was not up manually or by hot plug before. Ausserdem kriege ich in der Konsole: No IRQ known for interrupt pin A of device 00:08.0. SuSE 8.0 Routet nach Neuinstallation nicht mehr

Hi Leute, hat einer eine Idee woran das liegen kann das mein Server nicht routet? Habe eine FRITZ!DSL Karte frisch installiert. In der Datei /etc/sysconfig/sysctl habe ich den Eintrag IP_FORWARD=yes gemacht + reboot. Habe ich irgendetwas Vergesen? Eine einwahl ins DSL NETZ funktionier, ich erhalte meine Dynamische IP, und DNS. Aber wenn ich einnen ping auf eine ext. Gateway? Woran kann das Liegen falsch konfigurierte Firewall? Ich nutze eine Kopie von der config für die SuSE Firewall 2, Warum Kopie; naja diese datei hat im alten System gut funktioniert. evtl. def. Will einer mein SuSE Firewall Script sehen dann kann ich es ja zusenden, ich weiß Ihr werdet nicht mein unwissen nutzen um sich bei mir einzuhäken... ;) ciao

Hallo Liste, ich habe am Ende .profile's hingefügt: trap "cleanup" 0 (das soll "cleanup" tun wenn ich "exit" vom shell) Aber: nichts passiert und trap -p "sagt" auch nichts. ? ;JOHAN!

Hallo! Ich starte antivir immer mit folgendem Befehl: antivir -allfiles -s -z -v / Wenn ich diesen Befahl als su eingebe, gibts keine Probleme. Hallo, Ich habe mal eine vielleicht dumme Frage zu Java. Es gibt Java von Sun, z.B. jetzt das j2re1.4.1_0. Es gab bei Suse-7.3 das IBMJava2 (jdk1.3). Es gibt das Java von BlackDown, z.B. das j2re-1.4.1-01 und erfreulicherweise auch eine gcc3.2 Version. Mozilla konnte mit SunJava2-1.3 die webcambilder von www.storchennest.de nicht verarbeiten, aber mit dem IBMJava. Was ist der Unterschied der Javaversionen unabhängig vom Release ? Gibt es da trotz des Standarts von Sun Unterschiede bei den Linuxversionen ? Vielen Dank im voraus Jürgen

Da ich schon mindestens 20 Minuten für den Download der Tages-Mails dieser Liste benötige, ist es mein Wunsch endlich mit DSL zu arbeiten. 1&1 hat mir die Karte gschickt und die Telekom hat mich auch schon benachrichtigt, daß die Leitung geschaltet sei.
