Hallo, Ich habe hier ein Laptop stehen mit einem defekten DVD-Laufwerk; dazu aber ein USB-DVD-Laufwerk. Wie kann ich,wenn überhaupt, eine saubere Installation durchführen. Ein booten über USB erlaubt das BIOS leider nicht :-( , dafür aber gibt es ein Floppy.... Alernativ kann man ja auch über "Netz" installieren, aber ob man es so hinbekommt, wie man es haben möchte, mit allen drum und drann? Bin für jeden Tipp dankbar Axel -Köln

X.org, Virtual Size, Auflösung

Hallo, eine Matrox MGA G200 startet nur in einer Auflösung von 800 x 600, obwohl 1024x768 konfiguriert ist. im Log heisst es für verschiedene Auflösungen: Not using default mode "x x y" (width too large for virtual size) und etwas weiter unten: Virtual size is 800x600 (pitch 800) Was muss ich ändern, um eine Auflösung > 800x600 zu verwenden? Hallo, das Alcatel Speedtouch 330 DSL USB Modem in der Rev. 2 konnte man unter 9.1 betreiben, wenn man sich die Firmware besorgte und das Kernelmodul selbst baute. Nun gibt es von diesem Modem eine neue Version, bei Thompson gibt es keinen Download einer Firmware mehr, nur den Link zum einem Sourceforge Projekt, dass einen OS Treiber entwickelt. Hat jemand schon Erfahrung mit dem neuen Modell? Werden diese Modems inzwischen von der 9.2 erkannt? BTW: müsste nicht demnächst eine 9.3 erscheinen? Gibt es schon irgendwelche Gerüchte was sich ändern wird? Grüße, Verena

Tastatur mit zusätzlichen Tasten, LinEAK, xmodemap

Hallo, sorry für den komischen Betreff, mir ist nichts so richtig Gutes eingefallen. Ich möchte die zusätzlichen Tasten auf diversen Tastaturen benutzen um Browser, E-Mail Prog, usw zu starten. Ich habe LinEAK installiert, aber ein Start von lineakd liefert nur: Speicherzugriffsfehler. Nun kann man ja über xev den keycode erfahren und mit xmodemap den Keycode belegen. Nur kan man den Keycodes auch ausführbare Programme zuordnen? Wie würde ein entsprechender Eintrag aussehen? Grüße, Verena

Löschen von Emails automatisch nach Empfang

Hallo Liste, wie kann ich kmail dazu bringen, empfangene Emails sofort zu löschen. Ich habe es im E-Mail-Filter mit "Befehl ausführen" "rm" probiert. Leider (wie fast vorrausgesehen) funktioniert das nicht. Kann mir jemand sagen wie das geht? -- Gruß Manfred

PPTPd GRE-Fehler?

Hallo Leute! Habt ihr eine Idee, woran das liegen könnte? Hat jemand Erfahrung mit pptpd? Mein Problem: Meistens funktioniert die Einwahl von einem WindowsXP-Client, nur meistens die ersten Male nicht. Wenn ich mich einwähle, funktioniert es die ersten Male nicht, dann (nach einer gewissen Zeit) plötzlich problemlos, auch die folgenden Male. Während die Einwahl auf den einen Server nicht funktioniert, kann ich mich auch problemlos auf anderen PPTP-Servern einwählen auf diesem einen Server jedoch noch nicht. Der Fehler tritt auch nicht nur bei einem Server auf, sondern auch bei anderen. Einen Plattenfehler schließe ich deshalb aus. Zeichensatzproblem unter SUSE 9.2

Hallo Freunde, Habe ein wichtiges Programm im Textmodus unter SUSE 9.0 mit dem größten Zeichsatz suse12x22.psfu laufen. Damit wird der Bildschirm mit 80 x 25 Zeichen gut ausgefüllt. Den Zeichensatz lade ich in ~/.profile mit export LANG=de_DE.ISO-8859-1 setfont suse12x22.psfu Nach Umstellung auf SUSE 9.2 werden die Umlaute jedoch nicht mehr dargestellt, obwohl ich unter YAST SYSTEM/Sprache den UTF-8 Zeichensatz deaktiviert habe. Von SUSE 9.0 habe ich mir den Zeichensatz suse12x22 nach 9.2 rübergeholt, macht aber keinen Unterschied ! Die kleinere Schrift "default8x16.psfu" funktioniert einwandfrei wie bei 9.0 Wer hat eine Idee ?
