Guten Morgen allerseits. Ich würde gerne fragen bzgl. Erfahrungen bzgl. FireWire-Festplatten an Rechnern mit SuSE Professional 8.2. Ich habe hier solch einen Rechner (Ein Shuttle SS40G mit onboard Firewire). Navh viel hin und her und verschiedenen Problemen hat sich nun folgendes Ergeben. Eine Firewire-Platte lässt sich einmal mounten, nachdem ich neu gestartet habe. Ob ich die Platte vor dem Start schon eingesteckt hatte oder erst nach Systemstart angeschlossen habe spielt keine Rolle. Wenn ich die Platte aber entmounte und wieder versuche zu mounten (und evtl. die Platte zwischendurch vom Rechner entfernt habe), wird das Laufwerk nicht mehr gefunden, ergo kann ich auch nichts mounten. Mit USB geht das prima, öfters und überhaupt. Weiss nicht ob das relevant ist, aber da ja beides über die SCSI-Emulation läuft vielleicht. Ach ja, in der Sache noch etwas. Ich kann immer nur ein USB-Gerät _oder_ ein Firewire-Gerät anschließen. Beide werden (wenn einzeln angeschlossen) als /dev/sda eingebunden. Wenn ich dann das zweite Gerät anschließe, wird dieses überhaupt nicht erkannt, soweit ich das verfolgen kann. habt Ihr Ideen dazu, oder könnt Ihr die Probleme nachvollziehen? Laut SuSE kann 8.2 ja prima mit Firewire und USB umgehen. Bei USB stimme ich sogar zu. Hallo, das gleiche Problem habe ich auch. Bei mir ist die SuSE 8.2 als Gateway konfiguriert (für ein Netzwerk). Folgendes habe ich bei mir festgestellt: Ich bekomme diese Meldung "Unbekannter Rechner...." nur dann wenn ich die LINUX-Maschine neu boote. Und zwar versucht Squid zu starten, BEVOR eth0, eth1 und dsl0 gestartet worden sind. Ich habe jetzt einfach die Bootreihenfolge für Squid hinter die Netzwerkkarten gestellt und schon geht's einwandfrei ... Problem beim Drucken aus Mozilla und Opera

Hallo Ich habe das Problem, das ich aus Mozilla und Opera nicht drucken kann. Ich benutze Suse 8.1 mit Cups 1.1.19-3 von ftp.suse.com/people/kssingvo/unsupported installiert sind: cups cups-client cups-devel cups-libs kdelibs3-cups 3.1.2-17 von Ghostscript habe ich Version 7.05.3-41 installiert und zwar: ghostscript-fonts-other ghostscript-fonts-std ghostscript-library ghostscript-x11 Gogglen hat mich noch nicht schlauer gemacht. DSL-Verbindung und X ?

Warum wird jedesmal wenn ich mich aus X auslogge die internet verbindung gekappt? die Verbindung wird beim booten gestartet und sollte auch verbunden bleiben wenn ich aus X rausgehe und mich als jemand anders wieder einlogge. ich habe SuSE 8.2 und war der mrinung das es bei 8.1 so war das die internetverbindung aurecht blieb auch wenn ich mich ausloggte. was muss ich einstellen um das in 8.2 auch so hinzubekommen? mfg Tom

Hallo liebe Leute, folgendes Problem: Ich habe im Yast eingestellt, das die DSL Verbindung beim booten gestartet werden soll (Flatrate, Dial-on-Demand). Es wird jetzt auch versucht diese Verbindung beim booten aufzubauen und das Kinternet-Symbol in der Kontrollleiste verändert sich entsprechend. Leider läuft da irgendwas falsch, und die Verbindung ist nicht funktionsfähig. Wenn ich diese misslungene Verbindung beende und dann erneut eine Verbindung aufbaue klappt alles. Dual Boot: grub (wieder) installieren

Hallo, mein Laptop (Dual-Boot Suse 8.1/ Win2k) brauchte mal dringend eine Win2k Neuinstallation. Bekanntermaßen hat MS ja ein natürliches und alleiniges Besitzrecht für den MBR, also hatte ich zuvor auch eine Boot-Disk mit grub-install (gab 'ne Anleitung im Web) erstellt. Blöd, irgendwas hat da wohl nicht so geklappt. Ok, Suse kann ich jetzt zwar noch über Umwegen mit den Installations-/ Modules-Disketten starten, hätte aber verständlicherweise auch gern meinen Grub wieder im MBR. Also mein Konsolen Yast2 gestartet, Boot-Konfiguration geändert mit Installation im MBR, ... , Neustart, .... und: Windows startet. Wenn mir jetzt jemand sagen würde, dass ich yast2 dafür vergessen solle, währe ich etwas schlauer. Besser währe noch ein Tip oder Hinweis darauf wie ich besser mache. Von Hand? -> Link? Danke Maik

Hallo hier! Ich hab seit der Installation von SuSE 8.2 ein komisches Problem. Manche Webseiten z.B. Google kann ich nicht abrufen. Ich erhalte im Browser den Fehler "Zeitüberschreitung...". Ich gehe über einen Router ins Netz und mit anderen Clients z.B. Win2000 hab ich das Problem nicht. Anpingen kann ich die Adressen aber? Hat jemand eine Idee? Die SuSE-Firewall ist nicht aktiviert.
