Hi Fellow KDErs,
I've been trying to remove the Dolphin and Firefox launchers from the bottom toolbar
without sucess. Every time after booting I remove them and the next restart/boot
they are back again.
Is there some way to remove them permanently?
Thanks, Tom

Open the logout/shutdown dialog more than once. A bar along the top of
the screen becomes scrambled. I also get this on 12.1 w/ KDE 4.8.4

I was comparing the building of KDF and KR49 packages, and noticed
some packages that are possibly being built for openSUSE 12.2 by
mistake.
These packages are disabled for openSUSE 12.1 and Factory, but are
enabled for 12.2. These are likely mistakes. If these are mistakes,
it is probably good to disable building these packages by default.
cmake
freetds
frei0r-plugins
gavl
gfxboot
kdebase4-openSUSE_11.3 - should probably be deleted (I already
submitted a request)
kdebase4-openSUSE_11.4
lcms2
libraw
These are disabled for factory, but enabled for 12.1 and 12.2. 12.2
should be pretty close to factory, so these may or may not be
mistakes.
CharLS
OpenGTL
make
gamin
getdata
gwenhywfar
libmlt
libqt4
libucil
libunicap
llvm
mobile-broadband-provider-info
obs-service-format_spec_file
podofo
polkit-default-privs
python-distribute
python-pyudev
rpmlint
rpmlint-mini
vtk
These are enabled for factory, but disabled for 12.2:

Hello,
I have installed the 4.8 tree, now I have configured the spam (spamassassin)
with KMail.
afterward in my INBOX I have only Mails with the Mail-Header no TXT in the
Body.
The good news the Mailinglists are "normal" ;).
I mean the Problem is, on my Server I have a running amavis with
spamassassin.on the client the spamassassin is newer
sometime a pop up window is on the screen with a Problem Reporting I have 2
different spamassassin (?)
After deleting the spam rules I have my mail again complete.

This is a more general issue than KR 49, so I am splitting this into a
different thread.
The issue is how long we will support openSUSE and evergreen releases
in different repositories.
There are several issues:
1. The load on obs.
2. The maintenance load
3. Whether there is actually demand for this
1 and 2 become more serious as time goes on, because successive KDE
releases add new library dependencies, and updated library version
dependencies, which increases the load on OBS, makes maintenance more
difficult, and potentially decreases the stability of the
distribution.
So my personal feelings on this are as follows:
KDE:Extra and KDE:UpdatedApps should probably be kept through the
evergreen period, but certainly at least for the lifetime of each
release. However, packages failing for old releases should be
expected and minimal, if any, effort should go into keeping packages
building for evergreen (although obviously unnecessary changes that
break old releases should be avoided).
KDE:Unstable repos should only be kept until the next release is out
plus maybe 2 or 3 months. Anyone running bleeding-edge software would
be unlikely to be using old releases. I would sort of be inclined to
3 months, but 2 months would be more closely matched to the eol
policy.
KR repos should be kept for the lifetime of older releases, but new KR
repos going stable within a few months of a release's eol should not
support the old release.
The rest should only be kept for the lifetime of the release, not for
evergreen.
I do have some question of KDE:Distro:Factory. It is not explicitly a
stable repo, but on the other hand as I understand it it is
widely-used. So in terms of its intent, I would place it with the
Unstable repos, but in terms of its practical use I might keep it for
the lifetime of a release.
Does anyone have any thoughts, alternatives, or strong objections to
any of this?

Currently for all packages in K:D:F the following error is reported in the
build log during compilation:
error: Macro %if has illegal name (%define)
error: Macro %endif has empty body
I checked the prjconf for K:D:F and it seems there is an issue with the
following lines:
%if 0%{?suse_version} <= 1210 && !("%_repository" == "SLE_11_SP1")
Support: xz
%endif
If you put these lines above the
Macros:
%requires_ge() [...]
entry, the error is gone since they are not interpreted as macros (checked
it in my home project).
