Hello,
on my system 10.3 the last KMail 5.7 - 5.8 is crashing by activating the
Workgroup Function with Imap ?
Is this a known bug ?

Hello,
for the adventurous testers I have created an experimental repository named
KDE:KDE4:UNSTABLE:KDEPIM4.1onKDE4.0 which builds kdepim/trunk snapshot against
the KDE 4.0.x Libraries (as built in the KDE:KDE4:STABLE:Desktop repository).
Unfortunately kdepim/trunk already requires a Qt 4.4 devel and there are some
incompatibilities so some packages have to be rebuilt for openSUSE 10.2 and
10.3, and you will notice minor optical faults (eg text of tabs gets always
painted in white color, if it really disturbs you switch to Plastique style).
I tested KMail on Factory yesterday and it made a solid impression to me. On
the other side KOrganizer tends to crash at start-up with current snapshot.
You should really try these packages only with test-data currently or have
really good backups for any case!!!
Bye,
Steve

Hi Bob,
The text and background colors can be changed via Settings -> Edit
Current Profile -> Appearance tab. There are a number of preset color
schemes available, including the Black text / White background seen
in KDE 3. The text size setting is on the same tab.
When you say "No way to change it", I take it that the settings were
not where you expected to find them. Could you explain where you
tried to look for the settings and didn't find them? I'm not sure
whether this problem is a flaw in the UI or just that things have been
re-arranged from where they were in KDE 3.
The Ctrl++ / Ctrl-- shortcuts for changing text size were intended for
temporary text size changes as in web browsers like Firefox. If it is
more intuitive for people then it can be made permanent. There are a
couple of bug reports open related to this.
Regards,
Robert.

Hello KDE4 testers.
I have 4.01 installed on 10.3 64 bit. I keep upgrading packages hoping that
some configurability problems on the desktop will be resolved.
Hmmm...maybe that is the design? It will be less configurable than kde3??
Ex: I cannot create more than the two virtual desktops. Cannot change the
wallpaper on one of the two (to distinguish it from the other) without the
other being changed. Cannot hide the taskbar (dashboard??) Cannot add apps
to the "dashboard". What is that "thingy" up in the right hand corner that
zooms in and out and hides the dashboard? Lots of stuff let out of Desktop
configuration and othe little niggling things that make kde3.5 so pleasant
and easy to use.
Is this it? For kde4?? or is a lot of iot going to "catch up" to 3.5. If not,
it certainly is not for me. Maybe it is just me and I don't know how to
manipulate it properly. If that is true, where do I learn.
Bob S

Hallo Leute,

I'm running KDE4 as my default desktop. Most things work fine providing you
don't want to change them due to the shortage of configuration dialogs at
this stage of KDE4 development :-)
Interesting enough dolphin works fine and opening a url from another
application will bring konqueror up. Just can't launch it either from the
menu or from a console.
Hope this helps.

Hi list,
in KDE 3.5.8 (44.1) for openSuse 10.3, when I open kcontrol ->
peripherals -> display, I can not change the resolution of the screen
anymore. Instead I get a message like "your X server uses xrandr >= 1.2
which has no configuration options yet" ...
Why that ?
When I compile/install kdebase/kcontrol/randr from current KDE svn (3.5
branch), I get again the usual randr possibilities like changing
resolution etc.
Why is this missing in the Suse compilation ?

I just wondered, as I read nowhere about this problem:
Konqeror (KDE4) has been practically unusable for me for several weeks, using
the factory repo.
It cannot render _any web page at_ all and always times out with an "unknown
error". Firefox and Konqueror (KDE3) work flawlessly. Also, the scan for
Netscape plugins (on 64bit) always fails at 30%.
Am I the only one having this problems??? I mean, I am one of the
old-fashioned KDE users for whom Konqueror is a central element of KDE, and
this central element has been unusable for quite some time. And nobody else
seems to have a problem?!

When selecting an Wallpaper in KDE 4.0.1 Plasma crashes on me.
Opensuse 10.3 (on x86-64) with KDE4:Stable Repos (desktop, Community and extra-Apps) updated yesterday evening.
I would like to report a bug but i am not sure against what product. (10.3 or KDE4? or something else).
The selected wallpaper is a .jpg . Or is this not possible at all?
