Hi,
after I tried KDE/Plasma/Wayland on Debian/testing AMD64 I inspired my
colleague Joop Boonen to test it on OpenSuse/tumbleweed.
Everything was fine besides Primary Selection (middle-mouse to paste),
so I stopped using Plasma/Wayland.
Joop is able to use primary selection in every application (KDE or GTK).
So, I was surprised.
Here on KDE/Plasma 5.12.5 I cannot do that (for example cut-n-paste in
konsole via middle-mouse paste into firefox).
I asked on the wayland-devel ML [1] with no answer.
The retired KWin maintainer wanted to have this feature in
wayland-protocols before implementing it in KWin/Plasma/Wayland.
So, what magic did you do in OpenSuse?
The Gnome-way?
[1] has references on how Gnome did it in mutter.
Or can you point me to the relevant packages with name (sources and patches)?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
- Sedat -

Hi there,
are there known issues with Leap 15.2 and logging into a KDE session?
When I login to a Plasma/KDE session I often do not get my wallpaper and
no system tray.
I then have to start yakuake and invoke plasmashell --replace &
After doing that I get the complete desktop with system tray and
wallpaper....
Any workaround known?
Thanks!
Hi together,
I read about the (bad) idea to integrate telemetrie data in dolphin
at (in German):
https://linuxnews.de/2020/11/plasma-dateimanager-dolphin-unterstuetzt-telem…
Now I would deinstall KUserFeedback from tumbleweed, but seeams
that this isn't possible w/o removing the main KDE/plasma.

How to remove this package, to ensure my privacy (the reason
that either me and many others switch to Linux is the privacy!).
Additionally according my interpretation it is not (fully)
compliant with EU-DSGVO / EU-GDPR <https://gdpr-info.eu/>
Any idea how to remove this package w/o removing KDE/Plasma?
Best regards

Yes, I know. But not only me don't trust this fully (that's the main
consensus of the discussion in the linked article) and prefer to
deinstall this package, to be on the save side. So there was the
bad experience with canonical and others in the past. Telemetrie data
in any direction are absolutely unacceptable for OSS and free SW!!
Regards and nice Weekend

Hi,
KDE Okular PDF viewer suffers from buggy poppler [1] leading to skipped
non-ASCII letters in PDF annotations [2]. This bug exist almost for a
decade, has many duplicates, and seems not be to trivial. Although is
not so critical, however it is highly annoying while using KDE (and
openSUSE) as software in office affairs.
Could we consolidate / prioritize our efforts to fix this bug or to hire
some one to work with it? It would be nice if openSUSE or even SUSE
could take responsibility while finding a solution.

Hello,
Please note: openSUSE Leap 15.1 support will end in two months [1].
If you didn't upgrade yet, now is a good time to start thinking about it.
As mentioned in the Leap 15.2 release notes, KDE4 is not supported anymore
[2].
When we remove the Leap 15.1 KDE repositories, some KDE4 packages that are
only built for openSUSE Leap 15.1 will be removed from KDE:Extra. (a lot of
dead plasmoids, a couple icon themes and obsolete applications).
Another reminder will be sent in one month.
