[opensuse-kde] kaddressbook / encoding problem

Hello everyone, I got a problem copying contacts from one addressbook to another. The german umlauts are lost in this process, regardless if I use the clipboard or explicitly save an contact as vcf and import it in the other addressbook. I am running openSUSE 10.2, KDE 3.5.8. It seems to work ok with both a 10.3 test installation and with a Debian based installation (this one on another machine). Other infos: > env | grep -i lang LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 > uname -rv 2.6.18.8-0.7-default #1 SMP Tue Oct 2 17:21:08 UTC 2007 Does anyone have a hint for me? I need a link to the developer documentation or an example or tutorial on that, plus enabling my application to access a wallet. [opensuse-kde] Kmail and separate encodinbgs for different folders.

Hello all! I have a minor problem with KMail. I have one sender that is using a different encoding than the rest of my mail. I cant understand which one tho. If i set decoding to Auto, half of the mail is ok. (Swedish characters) But some isn't. If i set it to UTF-8 none is Western-1250 and cp850 yields same result as Auto where can i see what encoding is used? The follow up problem is: Can i set encoding for a separate folder individually? So if i sort these problematic mails into that foder the viewq will see it as they are suposed. Hi, given that we have finally decided on a new repository layout, this is how it looks like: KDE:KDE4:STABLE:Desktop - only the bare desktop. it is also the repository to build against in your home project if you want to build your own apps. so it replaces the PLATFORM repository. KDE:KDE4:STABLE:Extra-Apps - addons that are released independently from KDE (amarok, koffice, etc) and maintained by Novell employees (via e.g. openSUSE Factory) KDE:KDE4:STABLE:Community - anything else the same layout exists for UNSTABLE (e.g. KDE 4.1 snapshots): KDE:KDE4:UNSTABLE:Desktop KDE:KDE4:UNSTABLE:Extra-Apps KDE:KDE4:UNSTABLE:Community the 3 repositories are also duplicated as backports, which will contain the some of the applications, if they compile against the distro version of Qt, kdelibs and kdebase-runtime. This way you don't have to update your whole KDE just to get a new e.g. amarok or digikam. KDE:KDE4:Backports:Desktop KDE:KDE4:Backports:Extra-Apps KDE:KDE4:Backports:Community The other previously existing KDE4 related repositories under KDE: prefix have already vanished or will disappear in the near future. [opensuse-kde] KDE Bugzilla Components and Bugday

Hello, it's still my task to start a discussion here about bug report handling :-)... It seems the desktop department bug days will concentrate on cleaning up NLD9 and SLED10 bug reports only (which are non-public within Bugzilla why ever) - so the question is if interest exists to have a Community KDE Bugscreening day for openSUSE bugs and which day and time would have the most acceptance? In the meeting last December we talked about having new components within Bugzilla to differ between KDE3 and KDE4 bug reports, latter now flooding us. [opensuse-kde] KDE4: kdebase4-nsplugin or kdebase4-nsplugin64 ?

Which version of kdebase4-nsplugin should be used for 32-bit plugin compatibility in x86_64 KDE4? I was under the impression that -nsplugin is the one that should be used as in KDE3, but when I try and install that from /KDE:/KDE4/openSUSE_10.3/ , it generates a mess of dependency errors and winds up pulling in a number of -32bit kde packages from the main openSUSE source (the beta packages that were included in 10.3 final, such as libkde4-32bit-3.93.0-svn712047-6) Would it be better to allow Yast to resolve bi-arch, pulling in i586 packages, is this a dependency packaging error, or should I just not be trying to install -nsplugin in the first place (-nsplugin64 is installed right now as part of the meta-package)?
