What actually controls what splash is available, the greeter/DM, or the DE?
Is there a TW or Leap package I can install to get Elarun in KF5 instead of a
choice between Breeze and nothing? Configure splash doesn't provide a way to
see where the selections live so as to be able to run rpm -qf on them to see
what rpm owns them. Installing kde4-wallpaper-default got Elarun for the
desktop wallpaper, but not for splash. SDDM isn't an option due to KDM
features SDDM lacks, unless SDDM can be used just for configuration access to
optional splashes and not required to be the configured greeter.

How do I make all dates and times /in KDE/ to be shown in the following
format if the 'date' command returns "Mon Nov 23 21:53:13 EST 2015":
Date: "2015-11-23"
Time (no AM/PM): "21:51"
I am in the United States but prefer the formats above. Under KDE4 with
another distro I figured this out, but can't find it in OpenSUSE's KDE4.
Yes, I also know that KDE5 does NOT support customization of formats,
which is one of MANY reasons I switched to OpenSUSE.
Thanks in advance,
Emilio

HI guys, is zeroconf supported in Plasma 5 ?
For dolphin, zeroconf:/ -> Invalid Protocol.
With os 13,2 and Kde4, under network:/ there is a "Network Services"
entry for zeroconf. No "Network Services" in Leap/Plasma5.
Thanks.
Daniele.

this has been posed in the wrong forum (should be in opensuse(a)opensuse.org)
Be it: go to opensuse.org
choose "install leap"
click on the name leap in the upper part (written in black and white)
In the drop down menu choose 13.2
enjoy

I don't want to switch to Leap because it comes with Plasma 5 (which I
have experienced as being too unstable) ... where can I download 13.2?

Are there any plans to update the current version of Kontact 4.14.10 in
openSUSE 13.2?
it's would be great, although it is no longer the latest openSUSE version,

Hi all,
I'm wondering what's wrong with the Skrooge package in KDE:Extra [1].
Since a few weeks it's unable to be build for most distros and failed to build
on Tumbleweed and Leap today.
I'm a novice when it comes to openSUSE packaging and OBS and I'd like to
understand what's causing the fail.
Background: I'm currently unable to launch Skrooge on Tumbleweed due to
library mismatches of an older installed version of Skrooge.
Kind regards,
Torbjörn

The following patches to qt55 are supposed to provide the missing data
needed to allow a plasma 5 session to properly manage Qt5-based apps.
Without these patches to qt55, only gtk and qt4-based apps are restored
on login:
0001-Fix-QWidget-setWindowRole.patch
0006-xcb-set-SM_CLIENT_ID-property.patch
These patches have, indeed, been applied to the openSUSE package, but are
not actually functioning for some reason. openSUSE is still exhibiting
the unpatched behavior. (i.e. only non-qt-based apps are restored on
login).
Would someone please look into this?
I'm using 13.2, and have confirmed with a Tumbleweed user that they are
seeing the same behavior, and it is most likely broken in Leap 42.1 as
well. It would be a shame to have Leap 42.1 KDE debut with broken
session management.

Hi,
I am trying to run openSUSE+plasma5 in a virtual machine driven by qemu/kvm
with or without libvirt. So far, I did not have any success.
I already reported a bug about this
https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=954434
Issues I have:
- black session with a DrKonqi Window about crashed kdeinit5
- black session without any window, only mouse cursor
- switching back from text console to graphical session yields no screen
update, i.e. still text console is shown, no reaction, also no blinking cursor
What I would like to know if any of you had any success to run Leap OR
Tumbleweed with KDE-plasma5 in a virtual machine driven by qemu, kvm and/or
libvirt.
Oliver

He may wish to follow https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=954650
For me that would be an error and for me it is directly related to fresh install of LVM and encrpyted LVM.
