Please test if possible: report upstream bugs at bugs.kde.org and packaging bugs at bugzilla.opensuse.org. [opensuse-kde] Plasma5/kwin5: Focus stealing prevention

Some time ago one of the updates changed the behaviour of the focus stealing prevention. I have set "focus follows mouse /mouse precedence" for as long as use kwin. I've also used to set the focus stealing prevention to "High" so that new windows popping up wouldn't gain focus automatically when popping up. I've this so I wouldn't inadvertently type into the new window or dialog that was popping up while I was thinking I'd write in the editor. After the update that setting is rendered completely useless: while the popup or new window doesn't get focus (wanted) it is also forced into the background (not wanted). This nonsensical behaviour extends even to the applications menu, which opens behind my active window, rendering it inaccessible. Is there another setting that controls where new windows are created, I do want them to open in the foreground, just not get focus until I move the mouse or Alt-Tab to them. Focus stealing prevention set to "medium" does open new windows in the foreground, but also gives them immediate focus (even when the mouse is still over a different window). Setting "Focus under mouse" also doesn't work the way I want, since it gives focus to the popup if it happens to pop up under the mouse (focus stealing prevention doesn't work in this mode, nor does Alt-Tab). [opensuse-kde] Unstable repository adjustments

Hello, in an effort to make things less problematic every time we switch Qt versions needed for KDE:Unstable:Frameworks and KDE:Unstable:Applications, we have created a new repository called KDE:Unstable:Qt, which links to the latest version used for these two repos (currently links to KDE:Qt58). In short, after you add KDE:Unstable:Qt to your repos, you'll track the latest Qt version used in the Unstable repositories in a far more convenient manner. Krypton and Argon have already been adjusted (courtesy of Fabian) to the new scheme. As usual, please report breakage! -- Luca Beltrame - KDE Forums team GPG key ID: A29D259B

[opensuse-kde] Konsole: re-order profiles

I'm almost certain that Konsole used to allow me to re-order the profiles (new ones are always created at the end now). Is that functionality still available somewhere in the GUI where I don't find it or do I have to edit the preferences? [opensuse-kde] Kmail question, what is RID?

In my daily struggle with kmail I survive by manually erasing duplicates, using akonadictl fsck, vacuum and restart. With akonadictl fsck I find up to 15 items with no RID. Example: ------------- Looking for dirty objects... Collection "Search" (id: 1) has no RID. Found 1 collections without RID. Item "5261" has no RID. Found 1 items without RID. ----------- Started looking for RID but up to now to no avail. Trying to keep kmail as clean as possible I would like to know: What is RID and where and how can I get rid of them. An Item number does not give me much info. [opensuse-kde] Missing icons in Ekiga (GTK) with KDE

I've recently installed Ekiga from the network:telephony repository. My system is openSUSE Leap 42.2 with KDE Frameworks 5. The buttons for the Contact List and the Dial Pad show the broken document icon (a document with a superimposed red X). How can I make it find the correct icons? My theme is Breeze. I've tried changing the GTK2 and GTK3 themes in System Settings, but nothing helped. [opensuse-kde] Thoughts about integrating QtCurve-qt5 into systemsettings5 and Plasma 5?

Hello, I've been using QtCurve since KDE4 was released and now with Plasma 5.8.6 and Plasma 5.9.2. The only problem is that the maintainer has not been successful in porting the qtcurve window decoration into Plasma 5 since its introduction (Plasma 5) in 2014. This package allows any user to customize the entire look of a window and it's window decoration. Rather than having it as a separate package what are your thoughts about integrating QtCurve with the code in Plasma 5? -- Cheers! [opensuse-kde] Issue with systray icon

First of all I have already read this post: http://blog.martin-graesslin.com/blog/2014/06/where-are-my-systray-icons/ so I have installed libappindicator1, libappindicator3-1 and sni-qt. However I have found a couple of programs for which the systray icon is not working (Leap 42.2). 1) redshift-gtk Upon startup, the systray icon shows up but if you left or right click on it nothing happens. After much frustration I discovered that I need also to install: typelib-1_0-AppIndicator3-0_1 With it installed right click on the redshift-gtk systray icon works (only with plasma 5.7 or newer), but left click still does not. In case of redshift-gtk, having left click not working is not a big issue. What left click on the icon does is enable/disable the application which can be done also with the right click popup menu. However it would be nice if also left click works. 2) florence this virtual keyboard program is very helpful if you want to use a touchscreen PC without using the physical keyboard. However, left and right click on the systray icon does not work. Left click is especially important because it is the normal way to make the virtual keyboard visible. Does anybody know if there is a patch/fix/library/proxy/helper/whatever that can make the systray icon work properly? For curiosity I checked the other Leap 42.2 desktops (gnome, xfce, lxde, lxqt, icewm, SLE classic, and in all of them left/right click on the systray icon works. Only plasma 5 is "broken". [opensuse-kde] How do I import kDEPIM3 email to kdepim4 ?

For a long time now, I have been using the KDE3 version of kontact (KDEPIM3) for all my email. I'm trying to migrate this over to the version of KDEPIM4 that comes with opensuse 42.2. I just can't figure out how to do it. I've tried using the mail exporter tool, setting the program to look at a copy of .kde/share/apps/kmail/mail, but it never starts downloading anything. I also tried waiting a while after making the camera connection before going down the tree; apparently no "3 second grace delay" issue, either. And good news on the Digikam side, too. It is able to see and import the photos as it should. Finally, I noticed that the "store_nnnnnnn" folder name is incrementing by one digit each time the phone is accessed again, as I understand it needs to do. Also interesting is that I did not have any problem with the IOS "Trust" function. It is persistent for this computer connection across new phone sessions. Of course if the phone goes to sleep the connection must be re- initiated before it can be accessed again; when that happens the "store" folder still increments. AFAICT, libphoto2 works!
