Help Not Working in 3.0.3

I'm running SuSE 8.0 and recently used apt-get/synaptic to upgrade from 3.0.2 to 3.0.3. Now, whenever I press a "Help" button in any KDE-native app (KMail, etc.) nothing happens. KDE 3.0.3 ignores login manager settings

Hi folks, I've just installed 3.0.3 on my Suse 8 system (using rpm & -nodeps) from the KDE site and it is all running quite nicely except for the fact that all the users are showing up on the login screen. I can change the icon for the users, but thats about it. I can't get it to not show the other users (even if I move them all into the ignore dialog box) and can't even turn off the graphical login. Any idea what's going on here? Thanks. Peter.

Since this is the only serious cdrecord frontend for me, this is a real problem. I updated to KDE 3.0.3 and tried to compile the new version of k3b (0.71). In the process of "make", compilation stopped (with, btw, the error message: "k3baudiomodulefactory.cpp:24: parse error before `("). Now k3b starts with different windows for CD projects, file browsing and audio playback and is unfunctionable. I did several searches with google, but to no avail.
