[opensuse-kde] [tumbleweed] kde/plasma/wayland: Primary Selection Protocol (middle-mouse to paste)

Hi, after I tried KDE/Plasma/Wayland on Debian/testing AMD64 I inspired my colleague Joop Boonen to test it on OpenSuse/tumbleweed. Everything was fine besides Primary Selection (middle-mouse to paste), so I stopped using Plasma/Wayland. Joop is able to use primary selection in every application (KDE or GTK). So, I was surprised. Here on KDE/Plasma 5.12.5 I cannot do that (for example cut-n-paste in konsole via middle-mouse paste into firefox). I asked on the wayland-devel ML [1] with no answer. The retired KWin maintainer wanted to have this feature in wayland-protocols before implementing it in KWin/Plasma/Wayland. So, what magic did you do in OpenSuse? The Gnome-way? [1] has references on how Gnome did it in mutter. Or can you point me to the relevant packages with name (sources and patches)? Thanks in advance. Kdenlive needs MLT 7 package

Hi everybody! MLT 7 has been released about two weeks ago (https://github.com/mltframework/ mlt/releases/tag/v7.0.0). MLT is Kdenlive's mediabackend and one of the main dependencies. We want to port Kdenlive from MLT 6 to MLT 7 for version 21.08. However our GitLab pipeline is based on openSUSE Tumbleweed (https:// invent.kde.org/sysadmin/ci-tooling/-/blob/master/system-images/suse-qt515/ Dockerfile) and we are now waiting for openSUSE to release MLT 7. Do you have any plans when this will happen so we can arrange our schedule after it? [TW] SDDM gobbling CPU makes it difficult to login; turning off autologin broke greeter

On Core2Duo host p5bse I just did an otherwise successful dup to 20210604 on one of my rare installations that includes SDDM. Response to mouse and keyboard at sddm greeter is minimal, very highly delayed, if any response at all. Watching top in remote login shows SDDM using CPU varying between 25% and 89% or more. I did manage to login, but it takes considerable time to do. Switching themes didn't help. Am I alone in this? Attachment is grep of sddm from journalctl -b. Trying to switch back and forth between autologin or not, as when trying to disable autologin to enable a troubleshooting a broken X[1], is proving very difficult. It seems once autologin has been enabled, SDDM remembers even after editing /etc/sddm.conf.d/ to remove the autologin username from the User= line, and restarting xdm with systemctl more than once. I gave up and rebooted to try to get back to no autologin mode. The result of that initially was a black screen instead of a greeter, and sddm not showing in top. I got the greeter back, but it's still unresponsive and using excessive CPU.
