I've a strange problem. Dont ask me why and how, but I have achieved to change
the size of the popup window for selecting Email adresses in kmail (the three
dots ... at the right hand site of the "to" and "copy" field, in a manner
that I dont see the ok and the cancel button any more. I can change the
window's size with the mouse as I want, but I never see the "ok" and "cancel"
button again. They remain below the lower border of the window?
Has anypne an idea, how I can get rid of the problem?
I am running SuSE Professional 9.2 with it's KDE.
Since upgrading to SuSE Linux 10.0 my GTK application have got menus with
black backgrounds. Very annoying since the default font colour is black,
I've seen this in acroread, gimp and eclipse. If I run acroread from a konsole
and activate a menu, I get the following error on stderr:
(acroread:5291): Gdk-WARNING **: gdk_window_set_back_pixmap(): pixmap must
have a colormap
I've tried various settings in the ControlCentre, under "GTK Styles and
Fonts", but to no avail. I've removed all .gtkrc* files in my home directory,
didn't help either.
I googled the error, and found something releated to gtk2 2.8, but I've
checked and the indicated patch is already applied to the SuSE gtk2 version,
Any hints on how to resolve this?

I had the exactly same problem which was fixed by changing the keyboard variant from 'intl' to 'basic' in yast/hardware/keyboard layout.

I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this but in order to get quotes
(single or double) I have to press the key twice. If I only press the key
once then the next character either doesn't appear or comes out with an
accent or something like that. Other keys may be misbehaving as well but
I've only experienced it on the quote keys so far. I only noticed it
following upgrading to the latest version of KDE (KDE 3.5) via YAST.
Interestingly enough, it does not happen with my system at work just the one
at home. I'm running SUSE 10.0 with the various security updates etc. I'm
wondering if anyone else is having this problem. Is anyone aware of it or
have any idea what is going on and how to fix it. By the way, if I go to a
virtual console e.g. ctr-alt-f1 I don't experience this problem, but I do if
I use konsole.
Would be grateful for any help?
Thanks in advance.
While doing a kynaptic upgrade to KDE 3.5 final, the following was recorded.
error: Failed dependencies:
python-qt = 3.5.0-7 is needed by kdebindings3-python-3.5.0-7
I can't locate python-qt = 3.5.0-7
I have encountered an odd phenomena with KDE 3.5.and SL 9.3 Pro. When I
press crtl-taste in Konqueror (and maybe in KMail, too), several yellow
boxes with one digit or alphabet in each appear. When I press the crtl
once again, these boxes disappear. I have absolutely no idea what these
boxes are supposed to mean. The only clue is, that these boxes seem to
be related to the URLs in the active window...
Any ideas? Can someone reproduce this behaviour?
Thanks in advance!
In SeaMonkey and Firefox on Windows I had the convenience of saving more than
one username/password for a site and when I visited that site again I would
get a popup with the list of usernames from which I could select the one I
want. I thought only KDEWallet didn't have this but now I see that even
Firefox on Linux doesn't have it.
So can anyone tell me how to get this functionality?
Hello. I just updated my KDE to 3.5. Everything worked (it seems) except
for KDVI. It says:
[File Type error / can't load... No Multipage supporting mimetype
It also says that I'm using KDVI 1.4 under KDE 3.5 Level a SUSE 9.3
Any idea ?
Hi KDE community,
I'm running SuSE 9.3 with KDE 3.5.0 level "a", upgarded with apt.
I like it, it's much better than the 3.4.x version before.
After I found the new "Lock in Place" switch in the desktop menu under "Icons"
I hoped to get rid of the moving icons after very restart of the KDE desktop
caused in the two top panels I'm using. The icons move downwards on desktop
with the pixelsize of the two panels.
But the new lock does not really help with the icons positions.
With 3.4.x apps windows (kwatch, konsole, xosview) also did move in the same
way, if they had contact with the panels on one or more sides. This is fixed
with 3.5.0. Very cool!
Any hint? Or is this still a bug?
