I cannot add google calendar to korganizer. asks for google acct name, then password allow permission to akonadi to access google services "authorizing token. [opensuse-kde] Tumbleweed Build 20161022 fixed the kwin_x11 crash in dolphin

Hi all, I used to have an annoying problem with my Nvidia driver 340.98 constantly crashing kwin_x11 and dolphin whenever I would click on a folder. Updating to build 20161022 finally fixed this problem. -- Cheers! Hi Martin, The initial openSUSE view is as follows: For openSUSE Leap, this decision will likely mean that we will have to remain with Qt 5.6 and Plasma 5.8 for the life of Leap 42.3 in order to preserve our stability expectations of our users. As we discussed with you at oSC, Qt version jumps seem to bring a very high risk of breakages across a very broad scope, and I expect it would probably be too much of a risk to take in Leap 42.3. Leap 42.3's release is currently expected Q3/4 2017 The expected lifecycle of Leap 42.3 would mean I'd expect it to be supported for ~18 months from that point. This means in one way or another we'll have to find a way to support Plasma 5.8 until the middle of 2019 This is of course much longer than the currently announced lifecycle of Plasma 5.8, which I understand will end about the middle of 2018. A 'year in the wilderness' is quite an uncomfortable situation for us to consider. We'd need to have a lot of discussions between our Release Team and KDE maintainers to figure out if we even have a feasible solution for coping with such a situation. [opensuse-kde] gtk3 apps ignoring Plasma UI fonts

FF 47.0.1 is my most used example, occurring on multiple installations on multiple machines with multiple profiles. I install FF ESR rpm, and use mozilla.org binaries for other releases. In 5.24.0/QT5.6.1 (aka TW; as well as 13.2/KDE4), FF 47 is ignoring UI fonts, as if its UI DPI was set to a lower value (e.g. 96) rather than actual DPI (e.g. 120). However, fonts and DPI in web pages are working exactly the same as in ESR. This was not a problem with mozilla.org's 46.0.x. Neither is it a problem with 47.0.1 running KDE3, so I'm in brainlock what to try. Even though kde-gtk-config5 is installed, there is no place I can find in Plasma5 systemsettings to choose GTK fonts, and I'm at a loss to figure out what other package might be missing to provide such control. Is there any such package any more for controlling fonts in either GTK2 or GTK3 apps in the latest Plasma? [opensuse-kde] tumbleweed plasma 5.8 artwork (b&w or colored)

Hi All, I've just updated Tumbleweed to 20161006 that has Plasma 5.8. Geeko on start button from green became black&white; logout/restart/shutdown in start menu from colored became black&white also. openSUSE is famous to be the most polished KDE distro (in terms of stability and look). Breeze/VDG guys went to flat and black and white. While flat may be acceptable, I consider black&white not: we are not color blind! Of course this is my opinion, but if you feel the same please restore previous icons (they are already done). Ideally system tray icons should be colored also. I think this will make the desktop look more attractive (b&w is not...). And also there is no uniformity (for ex my icons in panel (show desktop, firefox, yast etc) are all colored, and next to them is b&w Geeko...) [opensuse-kde] Should we start building KDE:Applications against KDE:Frameworks5 for Leap 42.1?

Hi! I decided to ask this question here as well, as it mainly affects users. So, should we start building KDE:Applications against KDE:Frameworks5 for Leap 42.1? The reason I ask is that currently with KDE Applications 16.08, over 70 packages fail to build for Leap 42.1. This is mainly KDEPIM, as it requires Qt 5.6 and Frameworks 5.23 now, Leap 42.1 only has Qt 5.5.1 and Frameworks 5.21. So we cannot provide the current KDEPIM for Leap 42.1 any more. Also other packages were changed to use a macro for the appstream data location that is not defined in Leap 42.1 (this would be fixable by defining it in the project config though without affecting users). And currently KDE:Applications is not completely compatible to KDE:Frameworks5/KDE:Qt5 because akonadi is built against Qt 5.5.1 and isn't installable with Qt 5.7 because it (or its sqlite plugin) uses internal/private Qt headers. The disadvantage would be that everybody who wants to use KDE:Applications on Leap 42.1 would also need to add KDE:Frameworks5 and KDE:Qt5 to get the latest packages there. And this would also introduce a possible incompatibility with KDE:Extra, which currently also only builds against standard Leap 42.1 (+Updates). This only affects skrooge though AFAIK. (would be solvable by building KDE:Extra against KDE:Frameworks5 as well, or adding an additional KDE:Extra:openSUSE_KDE_Frameworks5 repo, similar as it has been done for KDE:Current:openSUSE_13.1 in the past) Opinions are welcome, especially (but not only) from Leap 42.1 users. [opensuse-kde] Issues with Networking in the openSuse Tumbleweed Snapshot 27092016

Hi all, I have had an installation of openSUSE Tumbleweed KDE and this week updates generated issues with the Networking in an KDE-only system. After the update, the Wi Fi icon in the System tray at the bottom left appeared white and with an " ? " next to it. I later used my cellphone to share the connection via USB, but the same " ? " appeared in the Network icon. I then downloaded a new ISO (27092016) and i did a fresh install. Unfortunately, the same issues happened. Using the same installation media, then i installed Gnome 3.22 and I was able to update the system(i suppose to the latest 28092016 ISO). Back to my Plasma desktop, the networking icon was the same, all white as if it didn't have Wi Fi signal and the " ? " icon next to it, however, i was able to connect myself to the internet and to update the system. Now i have internet, but i am not sure how stable is it going to keep. My Wi Fi device is this one: RTL8723BE, using a custom driver that i reinstall after each Kernel update. I would like to solve this networking issue without installing the Gnome Desktop/Gnome Network manager cause it makes my system more "heavy" and i would like to only have KDE. Can you help me ?
