[opensuse-kde] Output from kdDebug() is no longer visible

Hello, Since a recent kde 3 package update I'm no longer able to see the output of kdDebug() in the console. In `kdebugdialog --fullmode` the output is set to "shell" though. This happened after updating KDE 3 packages. Currently I have kdelibs3-3.5.7-79.2 installed. Is this caused by a bad setting elsewhere, or some compilation flag with the latest KDE packages? I also have KDE 4 installed (kdelibs4-3.93.0.svn712047-3.2), but I don't expect this is the problem here (unless kde 4 overrules some config file). [opensuse-kde] Iconsize in Kickoff menu of RC1

Hello I'm trying to change iconsize in Kickoff menu by command: kwriteconfig --file kickerrc --group menus --key MenuEntryHeight 20 and restart the panel dcop kicker Panel restart but unsuccessfully.It isn't working for me:-( Is any other way how could i change iconsize in Kickoff (not K menu)? [opensuse-kde] konqueror 3.5.7 https bug

Hello! I use the 3.5.7 packages from the build service for opensuse 10.2 and konqueror seems to suffer a regression when indicating encryption. If I go to https://meine.deutsche-bank.de/mod/WebObjects/dbpbc.woa?link=trxm_pbc_logou… with 3.5.6 the adress-bar is yellow, i.e. indicates that the connection is encrypted. Konqueror in 3.5.7 does not show any sign of encryption. Can anyone confirm that bug? [opensuse-kde] Lost mime types

Hello SuSE people, Trying to upgrade kde 3.5.5 to 3.5.7 on 10.2 After fighting with a Kmail crashing problem for two weeks (finally solved) a new problem has raised it's ugly head. Upon trying to open an application I get a message "Could not find mime-type application /octet-stream" After that message another message pops-up stating "No mime-types installed" Then the window of the app (Konqueror in one case) but there is nothing in it. No icons, no fonts, nothing. What is this and how can that be? Does a KDE upgrade do something with mime-types? Have no idea where to look, Help/info a little guidance would sure be appreciated. [opensuse-kde] Kmail crashing

Hello SuSE people, About the 1st of September I upgraded my KDE to 3.5.7 on 10.2 After it installed Kmail would crash with a sigserv when I tried to open it. Had to back out to my old KDE on the disk. Wrote to the list. Kevin Krammer (hope I got the name right) from KDE replied there was a problem with Kontact and the kdepim3 rpm effecting Kmail. It was being fixed as he wrote. Waited a few days and reinstalled the newer KDE upgrades with SMART. Same thing happened again. Kmail and Kontact would crash on opening them. Only this time I checked a little further and the two other users did not have the problem. But, I did have to back out again to be able to use Kmail myself. While in the upgraded state, I compared my .kde files with the other users. There was one significant difference. They each had a Mail directory in their individual Home partitions which contained their mail directories. While mine did not. Mine was in .kde/share/apps/kmail. Now, I have a great deal of mail about half in directories and about half in mailbox format. Most of the mailbox stuff is pretty old but valuable to me. Is it possible that this difference I pointed out is the problem? Also, is it possible to convert those mailboxes to directories without doing it one by one? Sure would like to upgrade. Any help or ideas will sure be appreciated. [opensuse-kde] Apps and virtual desktops

Hey Folks, Is there any way to lock an app to a particular desktop in kde? I have firefox running in a virtual desktop called "web" and kontact/kmail running in another one called "Kontact". Most of the time (but not all of the time), when I click on a url in an email, it pulls firefox from the Web desktop to the Kontact desktop. [opensuse-kde] KDE4 and a working terminal (konsole)

Hi, I am using KDE4 as a paralel-session with KDE3.. Disadvantage: had not closed thunderbird, which did not want to start. Used Kmail instead. Kmail works fine. After filtering about 1180 messages, i am able to write this from KDE4 desktop. The terminal is registering all, and working fine ;-) I have started SuperKaramba with it, and downloaded some gadgets: monitors and a clock. The 'Mac'bar=Tuxbar, does not work, helas. I updated the kde4 session, which prevents that everything gets unreadable. (i did not resize, afraid it would cause the windows to get unreadable) The session does not crash: Open: Terminal, Superkaramba, Kmail, Amarok, V3-monitor, and klipper. Nice experience. Have to install the debugpkgs, for to get some useable output in the backtraces... I am enjoying myself with this new and shiny toy ;-) Just starting up FF to surfaround a bit..
