I'm not disagreeing with the modularisation of it. Its more important to you
as a developer/maintainer than an ordinary user. As a user I would like to
goto Yast and select KDE 5 (for example) and let the system pull in whats
relevant.

I think that an issue for the person not using KDE as their desktop. Shouldn't
software like Yast pull in the dependencies it needs for a specific app
installation so the user does not have to care?
