[opensuse-kde] KDE4 no go!

I have installed kde4 and the needed packages as far as I can tell. However I am still having dependency issue and can't get to to run. When I try to start it from the existing kdm for a test account I've set up I just get booted back the the log in screen after a little pop-up tells my that kdeinit4 could not be started and to check my installation. When I check the log output or try to run a kde4 app from the konsole/console I get the following message: /usr/bin/<pick a kde4 app>: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.9' not found (required by /usr/lib/libstreamanalyzer.so.0) I can't seem to find a libstdc++ with GLIBCXX_3.4.9, though many packages say the provide GLIBCXX 3.4 (without the denunciation for .x.x."9"). [opensuse-kde] Faulty Sort Order in Konqueror

I have a lot of old time radio files on my computer. They get downloaded as a series of files and then I try to put them in order to play or copy them to a folder. I have a problem with the sort order this gives. If I have a series of files with episode numbers in them Konqueror insists on sorting them like this Episode 1 Episode 11 Episode 111 Episode 2 They SHOULD be sorted like this Episode 1 Episode 2 Episode 11 Episode 111 I know Suse Linux and Konqueror aren't alone in this erroneous sorting method but there needs to be a way to make files sort correctly without having to go and rename them. I understand this form of sorting is called alphabetic sorting, but to me the next number in the sequence after 1 should be 2, not 11. Anything else is just WRONG. Hi, I've installed the KDE packages from http://software.opensuse.org/download/KDE:/KDE4/openSUSE_10.2 to have a bit of a look & play on my openSUSE 10.2 system.I've installed the standard meta-port plus some other packages. When I try to login with the KDE4 preview session selectewd in KDM, the screen goes black & X restarts. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas about troubleshooting this - Xorg.0.log and kdm.log don't show any useful info. I did try starting X without any window manager & then ran kde4init in an xterm. That gave me an warning: no DBUS session-bus found. Perhaps that's got something to do with it? I checked with ps & dbus seems to be running. Hi, A few days ago both karm and knotes crashes at startup. Anybody else noticed this? Hello SuSE folk, Recently upgraded KDE to 3.5.7 release 35.1 on SuSE 10.2 You see an email address that you want to save. You right click on it and save to the address book. Then you can go back and edit it for information about that email address. I cannot add a name to an email address in KAddress book. I can add the address, telephone number etc but not the name. Here is the tricky part. That happens only when you select a "stand-alone" or "part-name" email address. e.g. kyle78(a)hotmail.com If you select one with only a first name attached,"part-name" kaddress book copies it with the first name attached and you cannot edit the name by adding a last name, e.g. bob <rnr(a)sanctity.com> If you select an email address with first and last names it will input it correctly and is editable. e.g. Bob Short <rshort(a)tampabay.rr.com> Very weird. Would someone try to do this and report back here? It may be a strange bug. I hope that I was able to describe this problem so it is understandable. If not, please question me and I will try again. Hi, at least some translations into german are missing or wrong in the SuSE-Build 3.5.7 (35.1). in Kontact the sidebar (Summary, Mail, Contacts, Calendar, ...) and in Konqueror the right-click-menu "New" (e.g. Folder (Ordner), Text file (datei), HTML file (datei), Link to Location and Link to Application (Anwendung). Hi, Running 10.2 with Kmail 1.9.5 I have always saved email messages from past versions of SuSE. I now have an odd mix of Mailbox & Mail Directories. (About 100 under the local directory) Would like to convert them all to be the same. Don't know which I should use. What are the pro's and con's of either type? Seems like pager stopped working correctly after last update. I have 6 virtual desktop placed like this: 1,2,3, 4,5,6 So when I drag a window from 1. to the right it should appear on desktop 2. Not anymore! Windows can be dragged from now only to upper or lower edge - eg.: dragging a window from 1. to lower edge, will make it appear on desktop 2 instead of 4. [opensuse-kde] kicker won´t start with KDE since upgrade.

Hello, My system: opensuse 10.2 with KDE 3.5.7 (release 24.1) when I log in as user kicker doesn´t start. I have to start it manually which is annoying. Is it a feature or a bug?
