Hi,
Running 10.2 with Kmail 1.9.5
I have always saved email messages from past versions of SuSE. I now have
an odd mix of Mailbox & Mail Directories. (About 100 under the local
directory) Would like to convert them all to be the same. Don't know
which I should use. What are the pro's and con's of either type?

Hello,
I have XMMS running most of the time. And I have it running when
shutting down KDE, so next time I start my kde xmms gets started again.
I thought I could stop that by using KControl=>KDE components=>Session
(I hope i translated not to far from the english names, I use a german
KDE here).
But no matter what I write into there, xmms gets restarted.
The corresponding line is in .kde/share/config/ksmserverrc, named
excludeApps=
What do I need to put into that line, to stop xmms from starting?
I tried
xmms
CheckHardware
"xmms*"
xmms --sm-client-id
xmms_playlist
xmms xmms_player
The link starting xmms in the K-Menu says
CheckHardware --sound xmms
Thanks,
OJ

I'm not out to destroy Microsoft. That will just be a completely
unintentional side effect.

Some time ago I posted this bug on bugs.kde.org:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=143515
and it is marked as resolved, but I can still find it present on my two
systems (both up-to-date). When it will be included in opensuse 10.2 kde
packages?
This bug is decreasing usability of klipper and entire kde (copy - paste).

Hello!
When I try to install kipi-plugins from the backports-repo (10.2) it requires
libexiv2 0.12, although the libexiv package in the same repo is 0.14.
If one installs libexiv2 0.12 the digikam package from that repo complains.
Could it be that kipi-plugins's dependencies should be updated?

Is there anyway of disabling the eye on the kickoff menu icon?
I've made an alternative icon which is a .png image and renamed it
kmenu_basic.mng, but the eye is still displayed :(
Any help with this would be appreciated.

Hallo guys.
Lots of you reported minor bugs (but a lot of them) against the KDE applet we
shipped in 10.2 as the lightweight package manager stack.
Thomas Goettlicher has been busy squashing those, and I just uploaded a
package to the build service (home:dmacvicar) with those bugfixes in case you
are interested in testing them and provide feedback. Please test, specially
#231203
- fix should wait for initial update until (K)NetworkManager has established
connection (#231203)
- fix some translations lost/missing (#229225)
- Small string change "Check now..." => "Check Now"
- fix missing one German translation (#244583)
- fix unfortune default column width (#262332)
- fix text cut off (#220870)
- fix Software strings / Window names (#221236)
- fix warning message on STDOUT (224548)
Note we are only fixing minor bugs in this branch, and features wll be in a
separate branch.

I noticed after a recent K3B update that now, after burning a CD, after the
burning was completed, but before K3B did verification, that it ejected the
CD, and then complained about not finding the disk. Reinserting the CD
would allow it to finish the disk.
I'm using K3B 0.12.14 with KDE 3.5.111 Level "a" Suse 10.1 on my laptop.
I also tried this out on my desktop at home. There it ejects the CD and then
pulls it back in and does the verification, and then ejects it again.
The problem with this behaviour is that the laptop has no mechanism to pull
the CD back in again - it's strictly a manual operation where you push it
closed. So It hangs in the middle of burning unless you babysit it.
The second annoyance is that when you push it back in, Suse thinks you've
inserted a different CD and pops up a message asking you what you want to do.
Anyone got any suggestions?

Hello,
I have Autologin enabled on my machine, and I also have several
scripts in my .kde/Autostart.
Is there a way to tell my machine
- not to execute stuff in .kde/Autostart on login, for example by
pressing a key (like SHIFT on Windows, IIRC)?
- to tell my machine to not login any user, i.e. to disable auto-login
for that one boot process, maybe also a Key?
Could be that there are easy solutions to these questions, but maybe I
just had the wrong search terms...
Thanks,
OJ

Hello,
SUSE Linux 9.3 will reach its end of life in about a week (see lifetime
explanation at http://en.opensuse.org/SUSE_Linux_Lifetime ). When that
happens SUSE Linux 9.3 will disappear rather soon from the build service
and with it all the KDE 9.3 repositories. If you for some strange reason
want to continue using 9.3 then better update/make a copy of them before.
Bye,
Steve

I upgraded my box from Suse 9.3 to 10.2. Now upon inserting a
thumbdrive and opening a konqueror window I get the error message
"Cannot lookup privilege from PolicyKit". Any ideas?
Thanks,
Joe
