I've been poking at this one for a little while now without much
success. Using openSUSE 11.4 and KDE 4.6.2.
I've got a few applications - the games from HumbleBundle 2 - that
have been added to the KMenu by their installers. When I navigate to
the applications in the KMenu, the icons are showing, but there is no
text next to the icons (Application name field is empty). A mouse
hover shows the app names in grey text in the Description field.
If I go to the KMenu editor and check the entries, they are filled in
correctly - there is a name in the Name field, and the Description
fields are all blank. If I add text to the Description field, save
and exit the editor, the new Descriptions I've added are not shown on
mouse hover, and the Application name is still not showing.
Has anyone else seen this?

Hi there,
I cannot get a connection with my USB UMTS stick and KNetworkManager.
It does work with umtsmon, because this application does allow to
specify the correct ttyUSB device name.
So I wonder, whether there is a way with KNetworkManager to specify the
correct ttyUSB device. I don´t see any option in the KNetworkManager
GUI, so I guess it is not possible, right?
openSUSE 11.4 x86_64
KDE 4.7.4 from openSUSE KDE repo
Huawei UMTS Stick
Thanx

Yes I'm using NFSv4 - but rpc.idmapd is running.
rpc_pipefs is mounted but not running - see answers:
$ ps ax | grep rpc
2622 ? Ss 0:00 /sbin/rpcbind
2639 ? S< 0:00 [rpciod]
2665 ? Ss 0:00 /usr/sbin/rpc.idmapd
$ rcnfs status
Checking for mounted nfs shares (from /etc/fstab): running
$ mount | grep pipe
rpc_pipefs on /var/lib/nfs/rpc_pipefs type rpc_pipefs (rw,relatime)

This should not the error:
$ mount -t rpc_pipefs rpc_pipefs /var/lib/nfs/rpc_pipefs
mount: rpc_pipefs already mounted or /var/lib/nfs/rpc_pipefs busy
mount: according to mtab, rpc_pipefs is already mounted on /var/lib/nfs/rpc_pipefs

Is also running - see above.

So - i will test it later on - if the sequence is not the right one. I send the
result after the next reboot.

Hello,
I've since some days a special problem with my NFS-Mounted Home
directory. So if I open a terminal/konsole, and make a 'ls -als ~'
I see that the owner are not myself xxx and groupe yyy, it looks
like nobody and group nobody. On a secound desktop with same
repositorys, but without KR47, I see with the same user the right
owner. Also on the server itself, the owner is correct. So the
main problem with this error, I don't have access to my restricted
settings like kwallet and so on (so I can't also use kmail and the
Webbrowser with kwallet).
Kernel: Linux 3.1.4-1-desktop x86_64
Distribution: openSUSE 12.1 (x86_64)
KDE: 4.7.4 (4.7.4) "release 11"
I whis you a happy new year

Yes, it's on the ttyS? also the same. But on the secound desktop
without KR47 repository not.

Hello,
i installed opensuse-12.1 with german language and in a test users
KDE/systemsettings/Locale the preferred language was set to German. In
Yast/System/Language the primary language is german, too.
So the test users KDE programs are in german, but at least Firefox and
Gimp still have english user interface.
In /etc/sysconfig/language i see:
-----------------------------------
# Local users will get RC_LANG as their default language, i.e. the
# environment variable $LANG . $LANG is the default of all $LC_*-variables,
# as long as $LC_ALL is not set, which overrides all $LC_-variables.
# Root uses this variable only if ROOT_USES_LANG is set to "yes".
#
RC_LANG="de_DE.UTF-8"
------------------------------------
But the test users "locale" says:
-----------------------------------
LANG=en_US.UTF-8
LC_CTYPE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_TIME=de_DE.utf8
LC_COLLATE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY=de_DE.utf8
LC_MESSAGES="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_PAPER=de_DE.utf8
LC_NAME=de_DE.UTF-8
LC_ADDRESS=de_DE.UTF-8
LC_TELEPHONE=de_DE.UTF-8
LC_MEASUREMENT=de_DE.UTF-8
LC_IDENTIFICATION=de_DE.UTF-8
LC_ALL=
-----------------------------------
I can workaround this by calling e.g. "LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 ; firefox" on
the command line.
Or i can fix it permanentely in ~test-user/.profile:
--------------------------------------
# Most applications support several languages for their output.
# To make use of this feature, simply uncomment one of the lines below or
# add your own one (see /usr/share/locale/locale.alias for more codes)
# This overwrites the system default set in /etc/sysconfig/language
# in the variable RC_LANG.
#
export LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 # uncomment this line for German output
--------------------------------------
But why do i have to do that, why is RC_LANG in /etc/sysconfig/language
not recognized? Is it a bug, or do i miss something?

HI,
Now I'm using OpenSuSE 12.0 and Kmail seams to behave strange; what is
natural, cause almost all it's new.
Anyaway .. I think there is a bug in the filter chain. In KDE 3.5 the filters
of KMail acted first in the incoming mail, directly from the mail server. If
you selected that a filter applied to a certain server, the message was passed
through that filter and if the criteria was true delivered to the folder
specified in the filter. If none of the filters catch the message and was not
spam, then it was delivered to the folder specified in the POP account.
Now it seams that the message it's first delivered to the folder specified in
the POP account and only after that scanned by the filters. That implies that
when the filter is specified it's necessary to check the POP accounts, from
where the messages to be scanned are expected, and also the folder where the
POP delivers them cause, or it seams, the filters only act on the folders, not
on the POP accounts.
Am I right or wrong, cause haven't master the setting of the filters, or it's
a bug?
