Hello there,
I face the problem that on my KDE 3.5.6 on opensuse10.2 I receive the
following error message as I try to print logged in as user.
Fehler bei der Druckausgabe. Das System meldet:
Abhängiger Druckprozess kann nicht gestartet werden.
cupsdoprint -P 'officejet6100series' -J 'file:///' -H '/var/run/cups/cups.sock:631' -o '
copies=1 multiple-document-handling=separate-documents-collated-copies
orientation-requested=3'
What can I do?
Greetings

Hi Stephan, hi *,
I'm using the openSUSE KDE packages for quite some time now (but because
dependence on some customer installations still on 9.3..), if only it
wouldn't break the Qt database bindings more often than not :-(.
While I do not understand the rationale behind the "outsourcing" of that
stuff packetwise and building it separately, I vote for some build trigger
that ensures the rebuild of qt3-extensions in case qt3 is built.
These are the current offenders:
qt3-3.3.7-29.1
qt3-extensions-3.3.7-30.1
qt3-devel-tools-3.3.7-30.1
qt3-mysql-3.3.7-30.1
qt3-devel-3.3.7-29.1
qt3-sqlite-3.3.7-30.1
qt3-unixODBC-3.3.7-30.1
qt3-postgresql-3.3.7-30.1
Find a minimal test app to list the available database bindings below.
Thanks,
Pete
main.cpp:
#include <qapplication.h>
#include <qsqldatabase.h>
#include <iostream>
using namespace std;
int main(int argc, char *argv[])
{
QApplication app(argc, argv);
QStringList list = QSqlDatabase::drivers();
QStringList::Iterator it = list.begin();
cout << "Available Qt database drivers: ";
while( it != list.end() ) {
cout << *it << " ";
++it;
}
cout << endl;
return 0;
}
dbtest.pro:
SOURCES = main.cpp

Hi,
Unfortunately my today's update to KDE 3.5.6 got me surprised with something:
d-bus daemon fails to start due to segmentation fault. Nothing appears in
the /var/log/messages log.
First I noticed that my unmounted optical drives icons appeared on the
desktop, which they previously did, only when a medium is inserted. Then I
got some messages about HAL being needed to mount those. So why wasn't hal
running - answer - dbus could not start.
I wish, I saved my update log... Anyway, I am pretty sure that the update was
only on the normal kde stuff - all the kde* packages, qt, arts and some other
that usually get updated upon new KDE release.
Reinstalling dbus-1 or the kde 3.5.6 packages showed no results.
Any ideas?

Hi,
I just added the repos listed here http://en.opensuse.org/KDE as sources.
My system notifies me there are updates available.
When I launch the system update, I get the error
File ./x86_64/cmake-2.4.5-1.1.x86_64.rpm not found on media:
http://software.opensuse.org/download/KDE%3a/Community/openSUSE_10.2
If I skip I have many rpms not found.
If I just clic on the notification Icon on the panel then update:
Transaction failed: Can't provide ./x86_64/kdelibs3-3.5.5-50.1.x86_64.rpm
from http://software.opensuse.org/download/KDE%3a/KDE3/openSUSE_10.2
What's the workaround?

Hi folks,
I've a strange problem using Kmail 1.9.1 distributed with SuSE 10.1 (Open
SuSE). Sometimes, not always, if I try to download Emails from my
pop3-Server, the Emails are deleted on the server side by my kmail client,
and don't downlaod the Emails.
I could check this via a webmail interface which enables access to my mailbox
at the server. Before downloading the Emails, the my servers mailbox is full
of emails, after I try to dowmlaod them, my servers mailbox is empty, and
kmail says only: "no new mails available"
This "feature" is really not fine. Right now I am not able to find something
like a reason for this error. For me it only occurs, and I can't see under
which condition it occurs... My first assumption was, it has something to do
with kwallet, so I switchted it off. Afterwards the error doesn't occur as
often as before, but it still occurs.
Has anyone any idea what might be the reason, and I how I can get rid of this
problem? This is really an error, which can lead to another mail client tool,
e.g. as mutt...
Cheers
Alexander

Hello,
I have KDE 3.5.5 rel.50.1 on opensuse 10.2 installed.
As the session is going on for a while the kded can not be found in the
process list. That´s why I get problems with e.g. printing because the
printingserver kprintd is not started. How can I manually restart the kded?
Is this a known issue?
greetings
