Hello!
First of all thank you all for continuously providing fresh KDE
compilations for openSUSE. In my case for openSUSE 12.2.
Problem: KDE 4.10.x: Whenever I switch from an active window to
another (inactive) one the title bar and the corner frame are
_animatedly_ getting colored, what takes _too much_ time before
the window gets active/usable. This applies to all open windows
(e.g. Firefox, konsole, smplayer, Thunderbird, dolphin, ...) and
to starting ones. No way to turn this off?!
Workaround: Downdgrade to KDE 4.9.5. The problem described above
doesn't occur with 4.9.x.
My machine is quite old but working well, I have a working 3.8.5
kernel with ck1 (BFS v0.428) and BFQ v6. I'll add more info if
needed upon request.
As I'm not yet on your mailing list please CC me, if I wrote to
the wrong address, please, help/point me to the right one.
Best regards,
Manuel Krause

Hi,
Big Brother Google started recently (for me, after upgrade to openSUSE 12.3, I
use KDE 4.10 since its release) to mark mails sent from KMail (like this one,
signed with GPG) to Google Groups conferences. It has started to happen for
various GGs and e-mails. Strange. I have been using same settings for quiet a
long time and this behaviour appeared recently. I don't see any reason, why it
should happen.
Anyone else having this experience?
All the best,
Vojtěch

Hi,
It makes me really wonder, why on earth you guys you talk shop about
elaborated patch handling, while *blatant* bug reports including *easy* fixes,
hanging around as submit requests, gets ignored.
Is that on purpose? Of course, everybody is busy nowadays, but is it such a
big decision to add a current version of LibVNCServer to KR410 for 12.2 in
order to get krdc going?
The SR (159256) from 7 days ago is now bit rotten, of course.
I could stick my head in the sand, since I'm a happy krdc camper again
(*several* dozen times a day) to get my job done, but I ask myself, is there
really any interest to get such issues fixed on a broader level? What are the
reasons for such a slackness?
Being in the SuSE business since its dawn (started around 1995), and after the
demise of SuSE Beta, one is accustomed to ignored bugzilla bug reports for
long periods.. Lately, I try to support the project by SR'ing stuff, but it
feels, like *any* other area is better supported than this one..
Cheers,
Pete

Kmail 4.10.1
See signature or other config info.
Mail has been working for last week OK. Then yesterday I noticed the
trash folder was missing and all of a sudden my folder tree sequence
keeps changing evertime I display a folder. Displayed folder moves to
bottom of list.
I recreated a Trash folder but deleting mail does not move it to that
folder but does move it somewhere. If I select the following in Kmail:
File --> Empty all trash folders
[/CODE}
it seems to do something.
If I look at:
~/.local/share/local-mail/
I see the trash folder I created but nothing in it.
Any Idea how to get trash back?

How does one insert special characters into editors/apps in KDE? One
of the characters I want to use frequently is Ø, a slashed zero which
is frequently used in radio/tele-communication.
Thanks, Tom

Hello,
recently, Kmail started to do one very unpleasant error. It sometimes shows,
that some folder contains new messages, but those messages don't show up in
the folder (folder show for example 2 new mails, but when I open it, nothing
new is in it). When another new messages arrive to the same folder, those are
usually seen as usually, but those "affected" not. When I launch webmail or
another client, it works as expected. I have to restart KMail to show those
"hidden" messages. There is no systematic pattern regarding folders, times,
... It happens rarely at all - less than 5 % of e-mails, but it is very, very
annoying. I have openSUSE 12.2, KDE 4.10.1. It might be related to last
upgrade, but I'm not sure. Any ideas what could cause it and how to fix it?
Have a nice day,
Vojtěch

Hello all,
I upgraded from openSUSE 12.1 to openSUSE 12.3. Both were running KDE 4.10. I have noticed
that some of my NFS mounts are duplicated in the "Places" panel in Dolphin (left-hand side).
The duplicated items have an additional '/' in the name (e.g. //docs). My NFS server is
openSUSE 12.2. I am using NFS4.
My fstab entry is:
server:/docs /mnt/server_docs nfs4 default,intr,hard,user 0 0
When I select the entry that has a single '/' I get a notification that:
"Could not mount the following device: /docs on server."
and the text in the red bar in Dolphin states:
"An error occurred while accessing '/docs on server', the system responded: mount.nfs4:
/mnt/server_docs is busy or already mounted"
If I select the entry with two forward slashes ('//'), it works just fine.
I suspect this is an issue caused by the upgrade (e.g. mixed up config file?). Does anyone
know of a way to force Dolphin or KDE to refresh its listings?
Thanks,
Alvin
P.S. I sent this to the openSUSE ML but I think I should have sent it to this opensuse-kde
ML instead.
