Hello, on my system 10.3 the last KMail 5.7 - 5.8 is crashing by activating the Workgroup Function with Imap ? Is this a known bug ? -- mit freundlichen Grüssen / best Regards Günther J. [opensuse-kde] Build Service Repositories Restructuring - Feedback wanted

Hi, it is clear that the current structure of the build service repositories does not fit the demand anymore, and we're trying to think of alternatives that work better. Over the last few days I've been trying to collect the list of problems and put a couple of possible plans together. I would appreciate any feedback, comments or suggestions. [opensuse-kde] Confused: Several problems on my openSUSE 10.2

Hi all, I've already sent this email to openSUSE main list, but got no response or advice. I'm hooping that this list will give a few help/hints on what is going on. I have several problems on my both openSUSE 10.2 installation. These problems are just the ones I've found: - Cannot print using kde applications. It states that the kdeprintd is not started - I've looked for it and it does not exist. ( Firefox does print ) - Kopete doesn't even try to connect to my configured MSN accounts. I've even tried to recompile kdenetwork3-3.5.8 and the results are the same. - The sysinfo:/ on Konqueror does not work correctly - Strange icons... the dvd doesn't appear, etc. - The ftp:/ on Konqueror does not work. - If I insert a USB Pen or DVD there is no popup notifying that a new media has been inserted and, as stated above, it will not be shown on Konqueror's sysinfo:/ It is a OpenSUSE 10.2 installation, containing latest kde-3.5.8 from the build service. I also have a lot of other repositories - mainly from Build Service. Both my home and work machines are showing the exact same behaviors so, it is not a single machine's problem. What could be wrong? Am I the only one with this problem ? Can anyone help me on this ? Execute the following as user: kded --check && kded --new-startup From what I could figure out, the KDE mediamanager was crashing or would simply exit. The above command restarts it. That should make Kopete, sysinfo:/, media:/ work. What finally made me install 10.3 was that I had to constantly execute the above command - almost at random intervals. I'm not sure what would trigger kded to crash, but it did often. At least with the above command you can get some work done :) I would suggest installing 10.3. I did the fresh install option, so I don't know if upgrading 10.2->10.3 will fix the problem. [opensuse-kde] KDE Help center unwanted output

Hoi, Since the suse 10.3 update i get usefull and useless info after entering a searchstring. Entering a search string like "SAMBA" I get this code output for documents which do not contain something about the search string. like: khc_htsearch.pl --indexdir=home/hans/.kde/share/apps/kdehelpcenter/index/ --config=book_opensuse_startupen --words=samba -- ..........and so on. and then another lengthy bunch of code and somewhere, hard to find, the usefull info I asked for. Is this a known problem ? What can be wrong ? [opensuse-kde] openSUSE KDE community meeting 20071128T2200

It's the KDE community's meeting time again. How can 2 weeks roll around so quickly? We must be having a lot of fun. This time we are experimenting with a later meeting to bring in people from other timezones. The meeting is at #opensuse-kde on irc.freenode.net (just start Konversation) at 10pm in London, England 11pm in Santa Maria di Leuca, Italy 2pm in Vancouver, BC 5pm in Raleigh, NC 7pm in Santiago, Chile The next meeting will be back at the regular time. Stephan Binner wrote up a Challenges page and discussing meeting these is the main topic. Also, the pile of patches and improvements that we have vs vanilla KDE needs a strategy to port those or upstream them. Can't start KDE4 in second session as another user. It bail out with: "Call to lnusertemp failed (temporary directories full?). Check your installation." The /tmp/ is far from being full. Though I found and corrected one ownership problem in /tmp/kde-<user1> where user2 was owner. Do not forget the --nofork I'm also placing it on a .kde/Autostart script until a better workarround/fix appears.
