Hi.
I have SUSE 8.2 pro, kmail 1.5.1, KDE 3.1.1, cups, remote lpd printer.
and I cannot print from kmail. Kmail locks up with the formatting page and
print cancel button showing and cannot be killed without exiting X. Other
programs print ok.
Any suggestions appreciated as I would like to print an email without cut and
pasting the contents to a text document.
Thanks,
steve
Dear List Members,
Having lost a lot of important business mail, I am enquiring as to
whether members have found a successful way of dealing with 'junk'.
Could it be that 'Evolution' is being selective and not including some
mail, or has my enthusiasm for deletion got the better of me!
Very fortunately I also have Mutt on board and that which was lost, was
collected.
Has anyone tryed Spamassasin or other utility for selecting out junk and
more importantly does it work.
Thank you for your time.
Malcolm Candlish.
Hi,
I am trying to see how do i upgrade the KDE from
current 3.1.1 to 3.1.3. I see that 3.1.3 is the latest
on Suse KDE download site.
Till Now my Yast Online Update(YOU) didn't tell me
anything about this new version of KDE.
I am using the download version of Suse 8.2. Would
this be the reason why the YOU never told me about the
KDE 3.1.3??
If i want to upgrade to 3.1.3 can i just download
the files from the Suse KDE site & install them??.
Would it install over the existing 3.1.1 ??
Any other pointers regarding this would be
appreciated.
Thanks
Pavan

Good morning,
I have installed SuSE 8.2 pro on a machine with a belgian layout keyboard.
My keyboard has been as followed configured:
Section "InputDevice"
Driver "Keyboard"
Identifier "Keyboard[0]"
Option "MapName" "Standard Keyboard [ pc104 ]"
Option "Protocol" "Standard"
Option "XkbLayout" "be"
Option "XkbModel" "pc104"
Option "XkbRules" "xfree86"
EndSection
In terminal mode (without X11 stuff) all works fine.
But once under running under X11 I have lost the key with the < > and \ on it.
At the SuSE support site they say to configure the keyboard as a pc105.
It resolves my key assignment but by backslash becomes a '|'.
Even stranger when I select my keyboard layout in de SuSE configuration panel
and test my keyboard in the keyboard test screenfield it works !
And when I close the SuSE configuration it till works everywhere..... until I
reboot.
This behaviour occurs only under KDE. Other windowmanagers works fine
Has somebody an idee on it ?
Thanks a lot.
ps. I have installed all latest patches from SuSE.
Hi all,
I have a problem when triyng to print an html file from Konqueror.
Although I see the preview ok, the last row or so is missing on the
print. I thought I could get round the problem setting bigger margins,
but I can't find any option to do that. Any suggestion?.
Suse 8.0, Konqueror 3.0.4, DeskJet-930-C
Thanks,
Toni
Hi,
I recently updated to kde3.1.3 on a SuSE 8.2 Professional AMD Athlon
machine with all YOU updates applied. I run a "blank screen" screensaver
that used to turn on after 30 minutes of idle time (this is still set in
"Control Center->Appearance & Themes-> Screen Saver"). I had DPMS disabled
in sax2 for my NEC 5FG (really a NEC 6FG). After about five minutes of idle
time, the monitor goes "off" and the "Lock/Logout" applet doesn't always lock
the desktop.
I have experimented with "Control Center->Power Management->Display Power
Control" by enabling DPMS and setting "Standby after", "Suspend after", and
"Power Off After" all to "Disabled". I have toggle on and off DPMS via sax2
for the monitor (restarting the X server). Bottom line is nothing appears to
get me back to the old 30 minutes and blank.
This is a problem because my NEC 6FG does not like being turn off. It is
old and comes back with distorted characters for five or ten minutes.
Next problem, kstart doesn't do the right thing with mozilla 1.4. I have
eight desktops and an Autostart file that does:
/opt/kde3/bin/kstart -desktop 8 -activate "/usr/X11R6/bin/mozilla
-geometry 1103x904+0+0"
And it always brings up mozilla on desktop 1. Any help would be
appreciated.
Regards,
Bob Pearson

Hello All,
Within IE, on a PC, you can press ctrl + f5, shift + f5 on Mac, to
refresh a web page, this then goes to the web server and gets a fresh
copy bypassing any proxy server caching you've setup.
Is there a similar thing for konqueror? Not just refresh or f5 as that
will not bypass proxy settings.
TIA,

Hi,
does somebody know why

size (compared to the 1.6 MB of the original ktamaga v0.7.1-1038 coming with
