Hallo, ich habe ein nicht sehr wichtiges, mich aber doch sehr störendes Problem (Suse 8.2). Ich habe vor längerer Zeit die Icons auf dem Desktop anders angeordnet (Laufwerke und dergleichen). Jedesmal wenn ich mich jetzt neu in KDE einlogge, sind die Teile anders angeordnet, nur nicht da wo sie sein sollen, nicht mal dort, wo sie mal ursprünglich waren. Gibt es eine Möglichkeit, die Icons an einen Platz zu binden ? MfG Thomas Janssen Suse-User aus Prinzip

When I set it to show date it reverts to timezone when I close it. create bootable using k3b?

Does anyone know if it is possible to create a bootable cd using k3b. According to the man page of mkisofs one needs to specify -b eltorito_boot_image. Can this be done via k3b? -- Richard Bos Without a home the journey is endless

Work Menu in SUSE 9.0

Well my 9.0 box finally arrived this morning and now I'm ready to whine about trivial stuff, since as far as I can tell, it's a great new version that seems to run perfectly and looks even better than before. Anyway I notice that there's no Work Menu (or Documents Menu) in the Panel in this version. The Doc Menu was no problem, simply Add>>Quick Browser>>Specify Documents directory as the starting point and Voila! But what about duplicating the Work Menu? I tried to add a second K Menu to the panel and delete all _it's_ contents and add my favorite apps to it...Well, sure enough, _BOTH_ of my K (SUSE) Menus were emptied, not just the one I right-clicked on in order to edit! I figure one major hair-raising adventure (having to create a second user and start over) isn't too bad for a complete fresh install of an OS, but is there any way to get the functionality of the old Work Menu back? wg, 1) Check the permissions on the following file: /tmp/kde-user/ksycoca user should be replaced by your username 2) If owner and group is set to root change at least the owner cd /tmp/kde-user chown user ksycoca again: user should be replaced with your username you have to be root for this (given the file is owned by root) 3) run kbuildsycoca Now everything should work. Customizing machines from an image file

Hello, We are trying to setup up multiple machines for separate users. We would like to know of an easy way to make an image of one of the machines to easily customize for another user. What is the best way to handle this? So far, we have tried renaming the original user but that didn't seem to work too well as there were problems with the sound module and all the links still point to the first user. It looks as if we will have to customize each machine which will prove to be a time consuming task. Any ideas on how to make this easier would be appreciated! Thanks! Jon
