Kmail 1.6.2: destroying messages?

I have a strange thing happening with KMail 1.6.2: it seems to destroy messages. If I go into the 'outbox' folder and highlight messages they turn into "unknown" for every column. Makes it rather hard to send the messages ;-(. I've seen it in some other folders too. Anyone an idea what this might be? /// P ///

..thanks a lot for leading me to gramofile. Now I have some wav-files in k3b, but it doesn't burn. I get the following warning, you see in the added file. cdrdao 1.1.7 is installed,(SuSE 9.0 professional) - is there a later version? How can I enable ide-scsi for all devices, should I do that? Question about Kmail and Clamav

Hi: After finishing the KDE update to 3.2.3. I installed both spamassassin and clamav. I have used spamassassin before, but have never used clamav. I configured both using the The Anti Spam/Virus Wizard. Is there anything else I need to do to get clamav to routinely check the internet and update its virus definitions? Having never used clamav before I have no idea what to do to get that done. Thanks for your help. -- Yours, Ralph. SuSE rpms for 8.1

Hi list, I was just checking ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/supplementary/KDE/update_for_8.1/base for the new KDE 3.2.3 rpms. If I am looking correctly there is still kdebase3-3.2.2 on the server. Is this working with KDE 3.2.3 or are new kdebas3-rpms still to come ? Udo

GE timeout

Hi, i've update my SuSE Prof 9.1 to KDE 3.2.3 with ftp-update. Now i'll see in my /var/log/Xfree86.0.log and /var/log/kdm.log the endless messages GE timeout GE timeout GE timeout GE timeout GE timeout ... and so on With top i see the X will use a lot of CPU-time. How do you get KPPP to work properly on the KDE on suse 9.1

I like KPPP it seems like a very nice program for an Internet dialup. However I am a bit frustrated with SuSE 9.1 I had previously installed 8.2 and had KPPP installed as my Internet dialer which never worked well but it did work however KPPP does not work on SuSE 9.1 I dial out to my service provider , the modems connect and then the connec tion is severed and I get this error: Jun 13 22:53:08 linux pppd[9105]: Can't open options file /etc/ppp/peers/kppp: No such file or directory I formated my hard disk and reinstalled SuSE 9.1 freshly and added KPPP again when I tried to dial out to my service provider , the modems connect and then the connection is severed again and I get the same error What do we do now? Have you ever got SuSE 9.1 to establish a connection to the Internet? How ? Switching desktops

I have a simple question, to which I could not find any answer in Suse documents, either paper, or online. Any way here is the question: how do I switch from one desktop to another? I was very unhappy with the Suse User Guide which talks about Kde and Gnome both for 20 pages, but it never tells you how to switch from one to another. First and foremost I want to know how to switch the default desktop environment to Gnome, which some users prefer. I personally would like to use both, and switch between them at will, if this is possible. Two other users want the Enlightenment Desktop. I could download that and install it, but I just don't know how to switch between desktops, and one additional desktop will only make my problem worse. If you can help, I would be very grateful. Konqueror and overlib (revisited)

Hi All! It seems that Konqueror 3.1.4 **still** has some problems with overlib (which is used for all sorts of neat mouseover features). On my Linux tutorial, I used it for popup glossary entries. The problem is that the popups appear progressively high in the browser until eventually they are no longer visible. Here are two examples of where this problem appears. http://www.linux-tutorial.info/cgi-bin/display.pl?2&0&0&0&3 http://www.bosrup.com/web/overlib/ This works fine on Mozilla 1.4, IE 6 and worked in previous versions of Konqueror (what I had with SuSE 8.1,, 3.0.1 I believe). After upgrading to SUSE 8.2, it stopped working. Now I have Suse 9.0 and Konqueror 3.1.4 and the problems remain. It seems that the problem only starts when I scroll down and the konqueor is not calculating the corredinates correctly. When I am at the top of the page, the popup works correctly. That is, the popup appears to the lower right of the link. But the further I move down, the higher up and away the popup appears until it is no longer visible. Since this popup mechansism is an important part of my web site, I am anxious to get this problem solved. Is there any logical reason for assuming that it is not a problem with Konqueror, and all of the other browsers do not behave correctly? Any help is greatly appreaciated.
