Hi: After finishing the KDE update to 3.2.3. I installed both spamassassin and clamav. I have used spamassassin before, but have never used clamav. I configured both using the The Anti Spam/Virus Wizard. Is there anything else I need to do to get clamav to routinely check the internet and update its virus definitions? Having never used clamav before I have no idea what to do to get that done. Thanks for your help. -- Yours, Ralph. Just make a cron job to run freshclam every now and then. Hans
forgive my naivety, what is this "Anit Spam/Virus Wizard" ? I installed both clam and spamassasin. I was able to get spamassasin to work by setting up filters manually When I tried to get clamv to setup, found out I needed an aditional package for using as filter in kmail. I never did get that to work. B-) On Friday 11 June 2004 02:59 pm, H du Plooy wrote:

Where did you get KMail 1.6.52 from?

Sorry, I should have mentioned that: I'm running KMail 1.6.2 (Using KDE 3.2.3). I've updated the instance I noticed that 3.2.3 was out (the same day, I believe). Just checked my apt cache, KMail was in kdepim3-3.2.3-2.i586.rpm. Is your version# a typo or do you really have KMail 1.6.52? Cheers, Leen

Odd, compared to the version of kdepim3:
Synaptic and kdepim3 is version 3.2.90_2004060911-0.1. I did this up grade the day after kde 3.2.3 came out. I have not checked for any new rpms.
Then he question is: where did you get kdepim3-3.2.90_2004060911-0.1 from? I bet the answer is in your /etc/apt/sources.list. Would you be so kind to send me that file in private? TIA & Cheers, Leen

I've found the possible source: adrian's rpms, from 'suse-people'. I think they are daily cvs builds or so, because ATM his kdepim3 build has failed. Thanks, Ralph! Cheers, Leen

I went there (pub/suse/x86_64/supplementary/KDE/update_for_9.1/ and got the kdepim3 package updated. It did indeed update, however to 1.6.2 instead of 1.6.52. I thought I saw another reply stating it is in a user directory of suse instead. I can't seem to find that reply. Do you know this "other" path? B-)

1.6.52 is from KDE-3.3, and is of Alpha-quality (I believe). 1.6.2 is from the stable KDE-3.2.3. If you really want to install KMail-1.6.52, go to ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/people/adrian (or a mirror). If you have apt installed, add 'suse-people' as a source. Cheers, Leen
