kmail headers pane

I am now using KDE 3 on SuSE 7.3. I have one irritating thing in it I can not get past. After much searching I am guessing it is an unavailable feature, but I thought I might ask this group. With the main window open, looking at the header pane, I can move the columns around so that the Sender is on the left. This has nothing to do with sorting the messages, just how the pane is layed out. However, I can find no way to save this "layout". When I close and restart kmail, the Sender column returns to it's normal position. How is it I can move it, but not save that? Has anyone else noticed this? Overcome it? Have I just not looked for the right thing in the docs? If so, please point me in the right direction. Network-Konqueror

Good afternoon, I have a small network existing out of 10 computers, a hubs and a router (brand: Broadband Router D-Link DI 804) and an broadband (ADSL) modem (brand: Speed Touch Home Alcatel). All computers can on the internet at the same time and files and printers can be shared. For testing purposes we run on four of these computers SuSE Linux 7.3 Professional, which we start from a floppy. As standalone those computers run well. The Ethernet cards have been configured dynamic and get their IP address from the router. (For the moment Linux run separately from Windows that means we are using Linux or Windows). I do not encounter any problems when testing on the console with arp, ping, ifcongfig, etc. Problem If I look by means of Konqueror in the network/local network, I get the remark: "Could not connect host to host local host". Under networks nothing is shown in the tree. Please, can somebody help? How do we share files and printers between the different computers in a Linux environment. Hi, I don't manage to have KOrn access my public IMAP/IMAPS account (WEB.DE) What do I have to configure? I also tried it with POP3, it doesn't seem to work. Isn't it, by the way, able to cope with imapS/pop3S (Port 995), the secure variants? Or doesn't KOrn yet support authentification like that? Which IMAP inbox folder do I have to use? "inbox" or "INBOX" or "~name" etc, esp. with WEB.DE? Ré

start kinternet automatically on KDe startup

Hello, can anybody tell me and other readers how I can have kinternet started automatically on KDE start up. It worked on KDE 2.2.2 but does not on KDE 3. I want to have it switched on for every user. I read something that there is something in /opt/kde/bin/startkde like RUN_KINTERNET. If there is anything like that for KDE 3 why doas it not start up then? Additionally, programs you had running during the last shutdown should start up again on next start up automatically. preview jpg files in KDE apps

Hi, The file open dialogue in KView and the attach file dialogue in KMail can not display a preview of jpeg (*.jpg) files. They just show a torn sheet of paper icon. Is there any way to get a preview of jpeg files? Peter

HI I try to install qt3-devel.rpm from SuSe support. But I get the answer I need these packages: freetype2-devel is needed by qt3-devel-3.0.3-57 mesaglut-devel is needed by qt3-devel-3.0.3-57 Can somebody please tell where I can find them? Are they "hidden" in som other devel packages? Ulf

root's settings not saved in KDE3

None of my settings as root (background, panel location and icons, etc.) are being saved when I log out and back in to KDE3. As normal user, everything is OK. What should I look for to fix this?
