Sic! I tried what U suggested, but everything, really everything, went
wrong.
I have 7.3 prof, and logging in as root, I did the stuff above: At the last
run, SuSEconfig returned me some errors, basically as it said that some
thing couldn't be copied from /opt/kde2....
As soon as I finished, I tried to logout and... bang! out from X and to
login prompt (text mode): no more dragon graphic login and the only way to
start something was log in from cmd and then startx.
Mmmmmh, so I tried to check out what was going wrong, and I found a lot of
references everywhere to KDE2.
So, as it was 2 o'clock in the morning and my wife was shouting, I tried to
make SuSE install to fix up: well, it updated/reorganised things, and, as a
root user I have KDE2 as default winmgr and as user I got KDE3.
Uff! maybe I am to new to Linux and I did something wrong, but where can I
get some info/man/whatever to understand what has to be done? Moreover, as
user in KDE3 I don't have anymore menu accesses to Yast/Yast2 (ok I can
start them by hand), but I'm not the only user of my LinuxBox (my wife is a
Mac user, and I'm trying to convince her!!)
Thx in advance
Ciao, Luca
