Hi, I'm running openSUSE 12.2 - i586 with KDE 4.8.5; I think it's the last update, and I've detect the following bugs. 1 . The system tray icon displays the number of unread solicited messages, but the Menu "New Messages in ..", in that icon, displays ALL the folders that have unread messages, solicited OR NOT. The un/solicited mail it's controlled in the Folder Properties. In version 4.8.4 this worked ok : the number of solicited unread mails was displayed in the system tray icon ans ONLY the folders that had those mails appear in the "New Massages in ..." Menu. 2. After I started Kontact/Kmail, in the Configure Kmail->Composer->Configure Completion Order, the list of Address Books appear. If, after, I start to compose an e-mail, and I want the recipients e-mail/names to complete, this functionality doesn't work. If, after, I go to the Configure Kmail->Composer- >Configure Completion Order, the Address Books list doesn't appear. If, after, I quit Kontact/Kmail and I restart it from the console, it's doesn't run I I get the messages "QDBusConnection: session D-Bus connection created before QCoreApplication. Application may misbehave. QDBusConnection: session D-Bus connection created before QCoreApplication. Application may misbehave. " Any comments or help? [opensuse-kde] Nepomuk question

With my last reboot I got the error message that Nepomuk would not be able to run because it was missing "Virtuoso Soprano plugin" After acknowledging the message everything ran and no problems occurred. Still curious I started to look for this plugin but did not find anything. [opensuse-kde] Why is krunner responsible for locking the screen?

With KDE SC 4.9 ksmserver was supposed to handle screen locking. When I upgraded to KDE 4.9.1 I found that krunner is again handling screen locking. How come? To me the former behaviour makes more sense but out of curiosity i'd like to know why was this reverted (or is this a bug?) [opensuse-kde] Amarok 2.6

I have amarok 2.6 building in KR49. It not builds fine, the only issue is I had to disable the ksuseinstall integration patch, since it no longer applies (and the methods it modifies seem to have disappeared entirely). However, Amarok 2.6 has not been officially released. I have publishing disabled on KR49, and would like to submit the updated package to KDF as well, but I would prefer someone disable building there before I submit in order to prevent an accidental early release. I can't do it myself since I don't have write access to that repo. * I second the need for video thumbnails. It's working for me in 4.8.5 but perhaps only because I'm clinging on to an old kffmpegthumbnailer dependency that I guarded with my life during the upgrade from 12.1. * Can we also have PDF thumbnails back? Not sure what happened to them. * Need to settle on a definitive phonon backend. See previous discussions / arguments about whether xine was dead or not, VLC being better but not in the default OSS repo, and ongoing talk of whether gstreamer is too ****ed or not. * Perhaps as a consequence of the above, though I'm not certain, this has a knock-on effect for example in Gwenview when browsing an album folder with videos in it (mpg in my case). It prompts to install codecs but that process fails for me, and the codecs needed to make it work include gstreamer-bad, ugly, bad-orig-addons, ugly-orig-addons, etc., and all the many other dependencies they in turn pull in. A regular user shouldn't have to go through that just to see their camera or phone videos in the default KDE image viewer. I don't know if the choice of phonon backend influences that. There's also issues with Dolphin's preview pane not playing certain videos. (FWIW, I switched to gstreamer because of gapless playback, no cutting off the ends of audio files and its requirement for Clementine). * The once-talked-about change from the KDE openSUSE greeter to an HTML-based (offline-capable) document would be welcome. * When I have an optical disc inserted, it would be nice if just about every action I perform (e.g. opening Dolphin or changing folders, file pickers and dialogs, opening Kate or another app with file management elements built in), didn't have to wait for the disc to spin up. I guess that's more of an issue for upstream though. * Nicer KDE integration in LibreOffice. Check the Tools -> Options dialog for example. Text and symbols are all over the place. Only been playing with 12.2 for two days but I have to say I'm very satisfied so far. [opensuse-kde] Problem with Local Mail folder in KMail 4.9.1

When I start a new Linux account and try to configure KMail the Local Mail folder is already present and can't be deleted. However this folder only contains three sub folders inbox, outbox and send-mail or similar names according to the locale. When creating another account also the sub folder trash appears. However starting a new mail message and trying to save it to the drafts or templates folder that does not work and these folders are not created. Somehow I managed to create a drafts folder, but I can't create a templates folder. Is this a known problem, is there some trick, or should I enter a bug report (upstream or with openSUSE?). -- fr.gr. [opensuse-kde] Could not start process pop3

Hello list Presently runnning 12.1 with KDE3 and 12.2 with KDE4.9 However. in 12.2 I am runniong Kmail 1.9 becauae od the Kmail2 problems. I copied pver all of the swttings from 12.1 to 12.2 (both being Kmail 1,9) Kmail will not fetch mail in 12.2 with the message "cpild not start process pop3. What am I missing? Setting are both the same in both distros. I seem to remember a posting about a change in a script or something which disabled something about kmail 2??
