Hello Mates, today i've installed the Logviewer Widget. But the Box says: python- script-driver for Logviewer can't initialized. [opensuse-kde] KOSD in openSUSE 11.2

Hi, I would like to inquire about the thoughts to include an OnScreenDisplay with KDE4. Standard we have some small OSD for the volume, but a nice OSD that follows the Plasma-theme is missing. This could however be offered by the KOSD package. KOSD offers to display bars for volume, brightness, battery, etc in an OSD that matches the current Plasma-theme. I have created the package in KDE:KDE4:Community and have added two desktop files to it (one to enable the autostart and the second one to easily access the configuration menu). [opensuse-kde] Adding trash-can plasmoid to default kde desktop

I understand that the decision to not add the waste-bin plasmoid to the desktop was taken in the last meeting. However I request that this decision be revisited if possible. The reasons for my request are as follows:- 1. Apart from the fact that most people are used to seeing a bin on their desktops, whether they come from windows, or gnome, or from openSUSE versions 11.0 and before, it is cumbersome to open a file-manager just to clean up the bin which is what one will have to do if the plasmoid is not shown on the desktop. 2. Only from the plasmoid is it possible to set a limit on the amount of disk- space the bin is allowed to use. It is set to a default of 10 % of total disk- space, but this can be changed by right-clicking on the plasmoid and selecting Wastebin settings (or something similar). I could not find another place in KDE4 from where to change this default of 10%. [opensuse-kde] kdesu and yast2 sw_single no longer work under kde4.2.88

Hi, I don't get a root password prompt for any menu item set to run as root anymore and yast2 sw_single won't run under kde4 although it does run under kde3. The root prompt doesn't work under kde3 or 4. I'm running up to date factory. Can anybody give me a clue as to what I can file a bug against or what I can check. [opensuse-kde] Which gtk-qt application to use for changing GTK themes under KDE4?

Hi all, I have 3 different gtk-qt applications to change the GTK theme of FF 3.5 under KDE 4.3, kde4-gtk-qt, kcm_gtk, kcm_gtk-qt. Which is the right one? I'm having a tough time changing the GTK theme from Gilouche to Nodoka or Clearlooks. [opensuse-kde] kmail starts automatically in KDE 4.2

Hello, since I use KDE 4.2 (now in version 4.2.4) kmail (version 1.11.4) starts automatically after I log into my KDE desktop. I never had kmail in the autostart or similar. [opensuse-kde] Missing: History in Konqueror4

Hello Folks, I heavily missing history in konqueror4! Who could explain me why it was erased? I do use it daily. A browser without a history isn't a browser. I found http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=194726, but there is no explanation for that. konqueror is my only browser! I use other browser only konqueror cannot handle a website or a javascript feature, for example in wikis or other ajax-featured sites. menue » go to » show history is not a convenient replacement. [opensuse-kde] Kile in openSUSE 11.2

Hi, this email is about the question if Kile should be updated to the KDE4 version for 11.2 although it has only a beta release at the moment. The KDE3 version which is in Factory at the moment is in my opinion somehow broken as all the default file viewers (kdiv, kpdf, kghostview) are already dropped from factory as far as I see and one has to configure kile manually to use okular. Also there is at least one more or less critical bug in the KDE3 version which will not get fixed: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=189126 I have used the KDE4 version regularly over the last months and find it ready to use. And there is https://features.opensuse.org/306844 which would only be useful for the KDE4 version, as far as I understand. However I do not know (do not think) that this feature will get implemented. [opensuse-kde] Default Plasma Containment

Hello, one topic I forgot to bring up in yesterday's IRC meeting is the one about "Plain Desktop" v "Desktop" (with desktop cashew) as default for new users. Compared to previous releases the cashew is now a bit smaller, and the ZUI is "working better than ever". Additionally some functionality like Plasma key shortcuts settings and general Plasma options (Different activity for each desktop, Use a separate dashboard) are afaik nowhere else accessible. So what to do? Change to upstream default? The plain desktop will stay in any case for people who want to use it and for people upgrading...
