Have uploaded 2 more images ([1]) (.png) that show the cut-off icons
from Dolphin and Gwenview toolbars. They are at higher resolution, so
it should be seen on these.

This did not make any change, the icons (lower parts) still get cut.

I took the freedom to forward the announcement of Stephan to this list
here, as I am rather sure not everybody here, who is maintaining
packages for KDE:KDE4:Community and/or KDE:KDE4:Playground, is also
subscribed to -packaging ML or -contrib.
I also to the freedom to add the repository Factory:GCC44:Staging to
Playground and Community in order for us to validate and prepare our
packages for the GCC44 switch in Factory. I will be watching the
progress for these two repositories and report the status after all have
been build.

Looking at amarok from openSUSE:Factory (no kde4-amarok, that still
exists) I see:
%if %suse_version > 1030
BuildRequires: libmusicbrainz3-devel
%endif
But at http://amarok.kde.org/blog/archives/809-Missing-features-in-Amarok-2.html
was said that musicbrainz was not going to be implemented in Amarok2
("MusicBrainz (we have plans for something better)").
$ osc branch openSUSE:Factory amarok
Server returned an error: HTTP Error 404: Not Found
Unknown package amarok in project KDE:Misc
It seems the devel package should point to KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop
instead of KDE:Misc.
Then, at kde4-k3b (still not renamed) I see
%if %suse_version > 1030
BuildRequires: libmusicbrainz3-devel
%endif
But the new k3b needs "libmusicbrainz-devel". webpin says it is
available at least since 10.3, so in all supported versions, so the
"%if %suse_version > 1030" probably can be removed.
$ osc branch openSUSE:Factory kde4-k3b
Server returned an error: HTTP Error 404: Not Found
Unknown package kde4-k3b in project KDE:KDE4:Factory:Extra-Apps
This devel package should point to KDE:KDE4:Playground, I suppose.
So, since I don't want to open a bug report just for this... take this
e-mail like a formal report ;-)
- Wrong devel repos
- Two amarok packages in Factory
- musicbrainz in k3b and amarok
- In general, devel repositories from Factory should be revised.

Hello everyone!
As mentioned in the meeting's summary we made a plan on how to get stable
default repos for the respin of the KDE live CD, which includes Openoffice,
firefox etc. and of course KDE 4.2. The problem about this is that currently
if the user installs the live CD, it would have to add the Factory repos,
which will change to KDE 4.3 at some point.
Since the live CD users did not add the factory repos themselves they should
not be bothered with finding out when they have to change them again to avoid
KDE 4.3 betas or even alphas.
So the plan is as follows:
- Get KDE 4.2.2 in factory to a state that does not contain any critical bugs
or regressions compared to 4.2.1.
- Create a KDE 4.2 repo by copying the files from the Factory repo. The KDE
4.2 repo is opensuse stable, i.e. frozen. The repo will not see any 4.2.3
version and only really, really important patches are added after the
creation.
- Let the respin use that frozen repo.
- Post on opensuse-kde and blog about the stable repo, i.e. tell people to
change their repos.
- Wait some weeks.
- Move KDE 4.3 to Factory.
This way users have weeks to move to the stable repo before Factory gets
filled with KDE 4.3. The respin can use stable repos and users get the same
experience as if 11.1 was released with KDE 4.2.
Regards
Sven

* fixing ugly bugs in NM-kde4. having a slightly hard time understanding the
applet layouting again (wstephenson)

* Beineri wants someone to do last of
http://en.opensuse.org/KDE/Ideas/11.2#Packaging_Issues
* Moving desktop-data and kdebase4-SUSE to public svn/git would be good
(Beineri)
* Workboard: Seli wants to mail probably desktop-engineering about how to do
login and keeping some stuff private, and then it can start looking for a
place somewhere accessible
* kde factory usb images exist but how to do storage is still under discussion
on opensuse-factory@
* Bugs need to be upstreamed aggressively, we have about 450 now which is
quite high. To handle with bug days in Community Week
* It feels rather lame to work on just sorting out bugzilla reports instead of
actually working on them
* 4.2.3 will go into openSUSE Factory before 4.3beta1
== Disable nepomuk/strigi by default ==
* It was decided to disable this for 11.2 now due to the combination of
performance risks and the lack of clients, but to monitor how they develop.
Sebastian Trueg, the Nepomuk architect, attended and agreed with this course
of action. He expects participation to increase now.

* Bug days
* KDE upstream developers to attend specific days

Hi,
After some hours I managed to resolve all the GCC44 specific building
errors and I have submitted the patches to the packages in Community and
Playground.
See below statistics:
KDE:KDE4:Playground
2 Package failed : Koffice2 and Qtscript-qt.
(Patch submitted to Qtscript-qt.)
KDE:KDE4:Community
7 packages failed of which 5 packages due to GCC44 specific errors. I
have submitted/accepted the patches for kmldonkey-kde42, kover, psi and
recoll. I have submitted the patch for cln, which should then resolve
the two expansion errors.
The other 2 packages are :
Lithium: Issue with the desktop-file (icon not installed). Question
here is if we would really still require another powermanager, while we
have powerdevil inside KDE4 ?
Plasmoid-nvdimmer: Issue with rpmlint. two non-void functions do not
return a value, so rpmlint is reporting an error on this. Will contact
the packager for this one.
With this all packages in Community and most of the Playground packages
are ready for the switch to GCC44. I will keep the GCC44 repository
active, so that we can validate new packages on GCC44 specific errors.
Regards
Raymond

Is there away to get kde4-networkmanager to be able to connect to hidden
wireless networks ?
On my laptop (dell 1505 with iwl3945 wireless card) kde4-networkmanager
connects fine to non-hidden wireless and wired networks.
For whatever reasons hidden wireless network(s) never show up in the
kde4-networkmanager wireless list
A iwlist wlan0 scan shows, the hidden network have been discovered.
I can use kde3-networkmanager and it finds and connects to hidden
networks just fine.
I've tried various suggestions I've found in forums and list(s) but none
work.
Thanks in advance
Tony

Both repositories have completed the build and this is the outcome :
KDE:KDE4:Playground
1 Package failed : Koffice2
KDE:KDE4:Community
8 packages for i586 and 9 packages for x86_64 failed. Most of them are
related to missing includes. I will branch those which I am not
maintaining to my home-project and provide a fix for it, which I will
then submit. If deeper analysis is required, I will contact the
maintainer or developer directly.
Overall I think that this is pretty good as we have more than 100
packages in Community. So we could say that we are ready for the switch
to GCC44
