Reading kmail-mails from console?

Is there a tool to read mails from the console easily? I like to login with ssh remotely sometimes and it would be nice to check for new mails then. I prefered to use nmh to read mails in console but it uses a format which seems to be slightly different from whatever kmail is using. I did find a tool to convert my nmh mailbox to kde-maildir format but it's not a very convenient. A.J

Kpackage and kernel 2.6.3-7

I updated the kernel from SuSE 9.0 (2.4) to the new 2.6.3 from the kraxel's rpm in order to have sata support. Everything seems to work smoothly but Kpackage, that fails to start: "can't open pseudo teletype". I have the new sysfs created and all required modules are loaded, If I run kernel 2.4, then kpackage works well. Anyone has this problem? Thanks in advance -- Oscar Curero (Linux user: #306877)

more sensitive mouse pointer acceleration

Hi all, is there a way to fine-tune the mouse pointer acceleration under kde (or X)? I want a high acceleration (7-8x) so that I can move the pointer over the whole screen without moving my hand (fingers only). This makes fine navigation very hard because the transition from non-accelerated to accelerated moves is very abrupt. What would be great is if there were a third or even fourth acceleration level, e.g. Threshold Acceleration 0-3 1 4-7 4 8- 8 Is there anything available that provides such a feature? Regards Mario

freetype2 version conflict

Hi all, I just upgraded to KDE 3.2, and since then I have a problem with freetype2. My configuration: SuSE 8.1 XFree86-4.3.0-17 (8.1 update from freetype2-2.1.3-36 ftp.suse.com) Since the KDE upgrade I get a message window at KDE startup (before the splash screen appears) which says something like "kdeinit failed", and XFree86.0.log contains the following lines: kdeinit: relocation error: /usr/lib/qt3/lib/libqt-mt.so.3: undefined symbol: FT_Seek_Stream startkde: Could not start kdeinit. Check your installation. KDE comes up normally as it seems, and I didn't observe any problems up to now (besides the message itself). I found some hits in google with the same problem but other kde/freetype versions, but no real solution, besides updating SuSE Linux which I don't really want to do. With freetype2-2.0.9-84.i586.rpm (original version from SuSE 8.1) the kdeinit problem is gone, but then I face Xserver crashs on certain font related actions, e.g. when selecting fonts in kde, opera etc., or just running xfd -fn <any font>. So using freetype2-2.1.3-36 is the lesser of two evils. Is there anything I can do about it? Can I safely ignore this message? Regards Mario
