I've checked out the website and googled around, but no luck. Does anyone have any info on this. I'm hoping it will have the 2.6 Kernel as the default.

New KDE files?

Hello, Can someone enlighten me on the "new" files available for KDE on the SuSE mirrors? It seems many are the same files that were there days ago. In looking at many of the files, that I previously downloaded against those "new" files, they have the same build dates and changelogs as the old. Did SuSE mess something up or just making "all" the files new for those not updated yet? using textblocks in kmail with an F-Key

Hello, I'm looking for an option to insert text for example my adress by using only one key, like the F-keys, oder Strg-x. I'm using the german version of kmail 1.5.1 using kde 3.1.2 and can not find any part in the settings. Isn't kmail able to do this? cu Thomas

Unable to log in on as user on KDE 3.2.1

Dear All I'm running SuSE 8.1 and last week I upgraded to KDE3.2.1 using synaptic. Everything went just fine until the last few packages when synaptic seemed to get itself into a loop. The kernel closed the system down and rebooted. When the system came up again I could not log in as user. (This was user area from which I did the upgrade calling root of course). The log in screen just disappeared and then returned - kde never started. However, I discovered I could log in as root and as any of the other users on the system. Furthermore I could log in to my user area via the nxserver I have installed and I could also login I did a "start new session". It seems that I can log into display 1 but not display 0 (?). After the reboot there were some problems with the rpm database - I guess because synaptic did not exist cleanly. However, I was able to fix this up and it all seems fine now. (But maybe there are somethign which are not installed fully or correctly -even though yast2 and synaptic do not report any problems. In the initial login screen there is a message saying 'linux ksm-greet [2059]: can't open default user face' This message is new since upgrading to kde3.2.1. Any ideas about what could be wrong or what I can do to fix this up? Thanks for help. Best regards John -- Dr J. Suse Wine Rack - MS Access

What is the icon?

When you look at the properties of a desktop object, you can click on the icon on the first page to change it. However, there's no indication of the filename of the current icon. That leads to several questions: 1. Is there an easy way to find that filename without chasing down directory trees in ~/.kde? 2. Is there an easy way to copy an icon from one desktop application to another? 3. Where do I go to modify the choices that I get when I specify an icon? Paul Abrahams

Manufacturers listing their products as Linux compatible

To All: I agree with the individual who wrote Kodak about their digital cameras, but it also applies to anyone who makes a compatible scanner. It would also be better marketing for SuSe, if they would at least indicate there ARE some that do work with SuSe. As it is, SuSe lists none , and why they bother to even include the two items in their hardware compatibility list is beyond me!! Since there are none they should not be listed. If others have tested items out and find they work, then it would be a smart thing for SuSe to refer to any proven item and where to find it and its details. :-X

News ticker showing "Unknown" entries

Hi All! I have four entries in the KNewsticker menu that all say "Unknown". I have never added any new (i.e unlisted) news sources and I do not know when this happened. I have looked in the ticker files in .kde/share/config, but I found nothing that obviously points to the problem. Any help is greatly appreaciated. Regards, Jim Mohr
