Laptop control center module in KDE

Hi, KDE Control Center has a laptop module in Power Control -> Laptop. When I click on this module and choose the option "Show battery monitor" - I do not see a battery monitor icon in the taskbar. I would much prefer to use this than the kpowersave - which lags behind in features in comparison to kde's battery monitor. Osho

Nice kde feature

Fwd: Forward inline or forward as attachment

Hello people, I've recently upgraded to kde 3.3.1 and I found out that the Forward Inline does not keep the original attachments as before. If I want to keep those attachments I have to use forward as attachment, but it doesn't allow us to edit the message (e.g. remove original sender). Wrong MIME

I'm in trouble. Here is my problem: following a lot of work, I don't know how, it happens that my konqueror doesn't open the local folders (directories) any more; instead, kuickshow opens them ! How could I refrain kuickshow's appetites ? Best regards to all Robert

Hi! Is there a way to make the clock applet display the week day besides the date? It only shows "15.10.2004", but I'd like to see the abbreviated week day too, e.g. "Fri 15.10.2004". If it is important, I have KDE 3.3. Thanks Mario

Distlists in kaddressbook lost after Update to 3.3.1 and 3.2.2

Hi after this update distlists have diappeared in kontact-kaddressbook.In .kde/share/ect. the lists can be seen, but how can they be made usable ? Hopefull Otto

kde3.3 Update

Hello! Anyone have an idea why a full download to hardrive of kde3.3 does not show up w/ rpm -qa | grep kde3.3 nor is it implemented after an update with Yast?? Yast does the usual update process, quits and then *nothing*. No new backgrounds, or olther 3.3 program versions are actually installed! Slow login into KDE 3.3

Hello! I successfully upgraded my SuSE 9.1 system to KDE3.3 after re-installing SuSE 9.1. I had made a full backup of my own home directory and managed in getting everything to work. However: If I log into the account (under KDE), which I restored, the login process takes forever. The first few steps are fast, but the "loading desktop" takes up to 2 minutes. Login into another fresh account (like the root account) is fast and instantaneous. After the "slow" account comes up, everything works as designed, but changing settings in for instance the desktop settings takes forever to show the menu. After restoring the home directory I chmodded and chowned everything to make sure the user id's were the same. Any hints, tips? (I have done this procedure before and then it worked like a charm) System: Athlon 1Ghz, 640Mb RAM, 60Gb HD. Cheers, Frits

Kompare Settings Not Persistent

Hi, I'm very pleased to see the progress with Kompare (it's no ExamDiffPro, but hey--it gets the job done). However, I've found that changes to the default settings are not recorded for other / later invocations. The settings file (~/.kde/share/config/komparerc) (which I've removed and allowed to be recreated) contains very little: -==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==- [General Options] Height 1024=1025 Width 1280=1281 -==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==- The settings I most want saved are my font choices (the default's just too big). Thanks in advance for any tips or information anyone can provide. Randall Schulz
