[opensuse-kde] phonon-backend-xine dependencies issue in 11.3 with KDF

Hi Guys, I am testing openSUSE 11.3 with KDF, there has some dependencies issue when upgrade to phonon 4.5.0(from KDF), phonon-backend-xine(ver. 4.4.2 from openSUSE 11.3) tagged Requires: libphonon4 = %version in specfile, once we force upgrade to phonon 4.5.0, then phonon-backend-xine will be leave us; if we keep phonon-backend-xine which is exists, then phonon will be not upgrade to 4.5.0, that caused some problem, e.g.launch dolphin failed, output message: dolphin: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libkdeinit4_dolphin.so: undefined symbol: _ZN6Phonon11VideoPlayer5eventEP6QEvent phonon-backend-xine(ver. 4.4.4) has tagged libphonon4 >= %version in KDF, same as in KR47, unfortunately I don't know why we ignore phonon/phonon-backend- packages in KDF, so we cannot get it from KDF, thus I think we need fix phonon-backend-xine in openSUSE 11.3, or other suggestion? -- Best regards, Max -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe(a)opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help(a)opensuse.org

[opensuse-kde] Kmail2 from KDE 4.7 slow folders

Hi there, I use kmail-4.7.0-10.1.x86_64 and whenever I open an email folder, be it an IMAP folder or local folder with email fetched from POP3 accounts, it sometakes takes very long (up to one minute) until the folder is accessable. Is there something I can do to fasten opening email folders? It is annyoying when you have many folders and each takes ages to open.... Hey all; 4.7 rc2 is now served in KDE:Unstable:SC, tested on 11.4 & Factory. Still need someone to test on 11.3. Here are the known problems so far: - Kmail2 might give an error message on startup saying "KMail encountered a fatal error and will terminate now. The error was: Failed to fetch the resource collection." This is reported upstream. - Nepomuk fails to index anything. This will be fixed next week. - Weather applet crashes on Factory. This a problem with the new gps library. I'll debug this in coming days. Have fun testing. [opensuse-kde] Does akonadi check email autonomously?

Hi there, sometimes when I start Kmail2 I have already received new email without having checked manually. Since POP3 accounts are now handled by akonadi, I wonder, does akonadi check for new email autonomously withhout needing KMail2 to run? On my KMail2 I received an email which after I read it just vanished. Went with midnight commander to the folder and found that the email had an different naming than everything else. It starts with { and ends with }. I have renamed it with something more similar to everything else and now the email is there again. The original email was named: {8fa605a2-f331-4858-892a-c420df7d6b9d} This is something I really dislike. I am not yet able to reproduce the original email. Otherwise I would send this email to interested parties and find out whether the symptom can be repeated. The email was sent from an yahoo account. Just send several emails and two of them vanished also. They are not any more in the folder but can be found with midnight commander with the curly marks in front and at the end. These emails were written in and send with kmail2. It seems a kmail2 problem then. [opensuse-kde] kde 4.x: how to add appölications starter menues to the panel?

Hi Folks, in KDE 3.x it was easily possible to add all menu items configured with kmenuedit to the panel as starting menues. In kde 4.x this has changed. I can only add so-called widgets to the panel. However, none of my menues I hvae configured with kmenuedit is a widget. For example I have had an eclispe starter menue, which has offered me three different eclipse versions. So how can I do this with KDE 4.x? Hi Developer, I already reported on the topic: "Stop thief, someone has stolen the network manager"! The message was also registered, the loss put the "network manager and entourage" of "Cartman" is also on record. ..... But unfortunately, the "network manager and entourage" is still not shown up. Missing this is for openSUSE 11.3 (32/64bit) in KDF and KR:47!
