[opensuse-kde] Transfer your packages from KDE:KDE4:Community to KDE:Extra

Hi guys, you either receive this email because you are listed as maintainer for KDE:KDE4:Community or are subscribed to opensuse-kde (and I couldn't be bothered to sort out the emails so my apologies if I'm telling you the obvious). Point being: KDE:KDE4:Community will get nuked soon and the new place is KDE:Extra See recent threads on opensuse-kde or http://old- en.opensuse.org/KDE/Extra_Repository for details. Therefore please be so kind to review the packages you are interested in and submit them to KDE:Extra. Also please get rid of the "kde4-" prefix and add some proper Provides and Obsoletes in the specs header. For any question just ask on the opensuse-kde or opensuse-buildservice MLs or IRC. Following the new policy you either have to use SRs to submit your packages and normally will get only maintainership for your single package. If you would like to become repo wide maintainer of KDE:Extra please apply on the opensuse-kde ML and read the above wiki link before to make sure you understand what that would mean (as in responsibilities). Also please make sure to remove any transferred packages from KDE:KDE4:Community since this makes it much easier to see what already got transferred. [opensuse-kde] Any support to fund the development of `kmail replies in HTML'?

Howdy, Recently, on `kdepim-users', there was a lively discussion [1] on whether KMail should have `reply-HTML' support. An outstanding KDE Wish [2] was opened on August 2nd, 2004 and to date, has 2,501 votes. One idea I had was given the number of votes, perhaps the user community is willing to fund the enhancement. Ingo Klöcker guesti-mated it'd be a two month effort. At 50 USD per hour (not a stellar rate), we'd need to collect 16,000 USD to roll out this enhancement. If 1,200 of the 2,501 people who voted for this enhancement chipped in 13.33 USD, we could get it done. :) At the moment, we have four people who have pledged a total of roughly 200 USD. My question for the group is ... If Wish 86423 is important to you and you're financially able to, how much would you be willing to pledge for its development? Please only respond if you're willing to pledge more than zero USD. ;) What we're not discussing ... ============================= In order to keep this thread focused, please start a different thread if you'd like to discuss the merits of any of the following: :) o The merits of being able to reply with HTML. o Using a different Mail user agent (MUA) [3]. o Whether HTML in e-mail is _always_ evil. However there are some rare situations where it'd be nice to reply in HTML. However I generally need to do this once every three months. I'm not out to make a buck from this. My plan would be to set up a simple web page with a form where someone would submit their username and pledge amount. I can see someone saying I'm collecting e-mail addresses to spam. [opensuse-kde] Programs disappear when minimized

All of a sudden when I minimize a gui interface it is no longer showing in the panel. I had seen this once before and I thought it was a setting in Konqueror but I cannot find it. Has anyone run into this? It worked for about a week after I reinstalled 11.3 -(default or desktop do it), and KDE 4.4.4 release 5. Then they began disappearing. PS -A shows them and I can cancel them. Any ideas? [opensuse-kde] kde-obs-generator: how to install files conditionally on the KDE version

I'm using the KDE OpenSUSE build service to build my KDE application. There are some files which need to be installed for systems which provide KDE 4.2, but not for KDE 4.3 or later. I've tried a couple of methods in the .spec file to specify this, but the build failed each time. How can I specify this condition? One example of what I've tried is: %install %kde4_makeinstall -C build for lang in kalarm; do %find_lang $lang %{name}.lang done if test %{kde4_minor_version} -le 2 ; then echo %dir %{_kde4_appsdir}/kalarm/holidays >>%{name}.lang echo %{_kde4_appsdir}/kalarm/holidays/holiday_* >>%{name}.lang fi ... [opensuse-kde] Problem with Kephal using factory/Unstable:SC?

I am trying to build a program that depends on kephal using OBS, and it builds fine when built against the Distro:Stable repos or the openSUSE repos, but it fails with this error message when built against Distro:Factory and Unstable:SC or when built on my local (distro:factory) machine: CMake Error at /usr/share/kde4/apps/cmake/modules/FindKephal.cmake:24 (MESSAGE): Could not find Kephal It looks like this script might be trying to find a file named kephal/screens.h, but this file doesn't seem to be available. I am not sure whether I am doing something wrong, or whether there is a problem with KDE 4.5+, or whether there is a problem with openSUSE's version.
