Hi, i am using kde 3.1.1 on Suse 8.2. I installed Mozilla Thunderbird 0.1 and it looks ugly -> http://www.foxtrott-nb.de/ftpupload/Bildschirmphoto1.png Is there an option to reduce the size of the fonts. Other gtk-apps looks normal. thx

Modem not found

Hi all, I have an existing machine with SuSE 8.2 installed. After installing an older US Robatics X2 PCI modem and booting, the modem is not detected. I ran lspci -v to check for it. Is there a way to force SuSE to detect the modem or will I have to reinstall? TIA Stu Gillis

Lower resolution ofr icons in KDE 3.1

Hi! I used to use KDE 3.0 with Xfree 3.3.6 and the icons were very simple (like Win98) but in KDE 3.1, the icons have too resolution (the efect is like WinXP). What can i do to have icons plainer? sorry for my bad english ;) Oscar

Susewatcher stubbornly stays red

Hi - I have a problem with susewatcher: It stays red even after an update. Here is what I tried so far to turn it green: - I checked "Include installed patches" in YOU, no updates to be seen (and it doesn't install any if I go on) - Called up the messages window from susewatcher - Tried to stop susewatcher by right clicking it in the applet tray and choose "Quit", but it refused to quit. Then I killed the susewatcher process: Success. Started susewatcher again from the shell and got the message: ERROR: Communication problem with susewatcher, it probably crashed The (red!) icon turned up in the tray anyway and seems to work (i.e. I can start YOU, look at the messages etc.) - Then I got desperate and simply checked "Download all patches" in YOU, which didn't help either (and why should it?) My guess is that something needed is not running (thus the error message), but if so, what? I don't believe that it comes from killing it and then starting it again, because it is also red when I boot the machine. At my workplace PC everything just works fine (same configuration, but installed from scratch) So, does anybody have a hint for me? Otherwise I fear I will turn red (and stay red). [suse-kde] Konqueror and "Save as"

Hello list I have the following problem: Whenever I (left)click some link to download a file, I get the popup-window with the three buttons "save as...", "open" and "cancel". Now: if I tap "save as", the file is automatically saved in the folder /home/user/Documents, no further interaction possible... How do I get rid of this behaviour? Installing GNOME

I just successfully installed SuSE personal 8.2 on my Fujitsu S-Series laptop. The documentation is a bit vague on starting up GNOME instead of KDE. How would I start up GNOME? Guten Abend, von Thread "Re: Standardbrowser unter KDE" > ->text->html und dem Programm ein %u mit > auf den Weg geben (Wegen der URL) genau diese Erweiterungen %u und andere %Zeichen haben mich schon immer beschäftigt. Wenn ich neue Dateiverknüpfungen und Programmicons anlege, frage ich mich jedes mal, welche Platzhalter in welcher Kombinationen ich verwenden muss. Kann mir jemand sagen, wo das dokumentiert ist, welche Platzhalter für was zu verwenden sind? Gruß Stefan

Thank for your help, but this configuration it´s OK. The problem is: when I restart the computer and the KDE start, the mouse it´s in the midle of Desktop and does´nt work, but if I unplug and plug the device, the mouse work fine. If Execute the lsmod in the console I can see: more.... usb-uhci usbcore hid input mousedev ....more What is the problem? KMail and Spell Checker

I'm using Suse 8.2 with KDE 3.1.3. KMail is my email client but when I click to Spellcheck I get a message: "ISpell/Aspell could not be started. Please make sure you have ISpell or Aspell properly configured and in your PATH." I've checked in Control Center and it specifies Aspell as the default spellchecker and Aspell is installed. How can I get spellchecker to work? Thanks,
