I just had kde take a burp on me. When I try to execute the Konqueror
symlink/icon for the kfmclient openProfile webbrowsing it won't execute. The
app tray shows it with a spinning hourglass.
When I execute the following command from the console I get this:
crrey@Crusher-1:~> kfmclient openProfile webbrowsing
ERROR: Couldn't start konqueror from konqueror.desktop: KDEInit could not
launch 'kfmexec'
However, in the root kde account I have no problem getting it to execute using
the icon/shortcut symlinks. Likewise, in either kde account I can alt+F2 and
enter a URL and then it comes up.
Running the following querry for the permission sets of kfmexec returns the
following:
crrey@Crusher-1:~> la /opt/kde3/share/applnk/konqueror.desktop
- -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3415 2003-01-16 12:40
/opt/kde3/share/applnk/konqueror.desktop
I have gone to telinit 3 and clear the /tmp file, and I have also rm'ed the
.mcop, .mcoprc. and the tmp-Crusher-1 and sockets-Crusher-1. This would
usually clear and confounding files and presents now change.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this occurred and how to correct
it.
TIA, Curtis.
