[opensuse-kde] 4.11.1: recurrent plasma-desktop SIGABRT crashes due to glibc double free

Hi, JFYI, I'm suffering from recurrent plasma-desktop crashes after upgrading to 4.11.1 on my openSUSE 12.2/x86_64 desktop system. I'm at K:R:411 as of yesterday evening. Last crash @23:12. Since I also use all the evil stuff, namely x11-video-nvidiaG03-319.32, creating a bug report is probably not worth it. Otherwise, which bugzilla? At least, running KDE SC up to 4.10.5 didn't show this behavior. [opensuse-kde] First send always fails

HI Every first send of an email from Kmail (4.11.1) opensuse 12.3 I get this message "Failed to transport message. Your SMTP server does not support PLAIN. Choose a different authentication method. The server responded: "5.7.0 Incorrect username or password. (#MBR1212)". All subsequent attempts to resend fial until i do this:- "Setting/Configure Kmail/Accounts/Sending/"select outgoing account"/Modify/Advanced/Auto Detect". The Autodetect flashes to show it "did" the job but the settings remain the same. If i now reopen the email sitting in the Outbox and send, it works. It also happens with the first reply instead of a compose/send. I always use the "New Mailing list email" option as i only use this account for mailing lists. On my other login that i use for all other communication, it seems to work fine. [opensuse-kde] kmail 4.11.1 menubar lost

Hi, I have switched to kmail 4.11 for 2 weeks now. It is an improvement. No display saying mail has to be fetched. Much better response to commands. But I have a problem now. The main window does not show the menubar. And I cannot get the bar back. The language is german. I expect to change the appearing of the menubar with the keys <ALT>a (a for 'Ansicht', i.e. for view). But nothing happens. Any idea how to get the menubar back? Maybe editing the kmailrc file? What entry must be modified in this case? For another user kmail looks OK still. [opensuse-kde] Keyboard backlight controls only after second login

Hi, I'm using openSUSE 12.3 with KDE 4.11.1 from KDE:Distro:Factory on my new ASUS N550JV. All Hardware is working out of the box without problems :) But there is one simple problem in KDE. The Keyboard backlight controls in the battery widget (and the keyboard shortcuts) are just visible and working after one logout and relogin. In google I found nothing about this, so is this a known bug? How can I debug this? [opensuse-kde] kde-open no longer finds associated program in 4.11.1

Hi, Since I upgraded from 4.11.0 to 4.11.1 I can no longer kde-open an .xls file without a dialog asking me: There is no application installed that can open files of the type Microsoft Excel Worksheet (application/vnd.ms-excel). Do you want to try to install one? Of course I did not change the file association. application/vnd.ms-excel is still linked to LibreOffice calc When I select "No" in that dialog, libreoffice is launched and calc shows the document without any problem. So it's just that dialog that pops up, which did not happen in 4.11.0 I reported as https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=324502 but I was told this is an openSuse specific addon which opens the dialog. [opensuse-kde] firefox problem

I am working with an out of support version of oS. I wanted to upgrade to a newer version of firefox. I downloaded the latest version, 23, and unpacked it to usr/lib. But what I got was version 16 when it was unpacked. What do you need to know to help me? What did I do wrong? The date of the executable in the bz2 of 23 is in 2013, but that of the installed is 2012. [opensuse-kde] No more icons in kolourpaint

Hi all, since some last update (KDE 4.11.1, openSuse 12.3) kolourpaint no longer shows the tool box icons. strace kolourpaint does not show any lookup for the path where the icons are really installed (they are in /usr/share/kde4/apps/kolourpaint/icons/hicolor/) Can anybody confirm this or give me a hint what probably changed in a recent package so that can happen ?
