I was wondering how the Summer of Code turned out. Specifically, about a project we were discussing earlier this year on the kde mailinglist. The topic of the project Students were to create some code for KDE so that the model name of the Monitor appears in System Settings --> Display and Monitor Was it a success? [opensuse-kde] Moving KInfoCenter to Monitor from System More Programs

Dear Listmates, For future revisions, in the menu. Can we move KInfoCenter from System --> More Programs to System --> Monitor ? Why is KInfoCenter under More Programs? Does it not make more sense moving it to "Monitor" where it should belong. Cheers! My spec file has the line %kde4_pimlibs_requires This has worked up to now for Mandriva, openSUSE and Fedora, but building for the Mandriva_2010.1 repository produces this error: error: line 29: Unknown tag: %kde4_pimlibs_requires Does this macro need to be updated? -- David Jarvie. [opensuse-kde] Slow startup with KDE 4.4.4

Several weeks ago KDE 4.4.4 started being very slow on first login for me - since then it just hangs for ~20 seconds during login, with no disk activity - more than doubling the normal login-time. I thought it was probably just me and maybe related to using the KDS repo and I just lived with it. But a guy in #suse reported the exact same thing using the official packages. If anyone on this list should happen to use 4.4.4 it would be interesting to know if they have the problem too? It would be quite disastrous if KDE login is this slow for everybody using the official packages. It turns out the problem goes away if you disable PowerDevil in the KDE Service manager. (Cold) starting PowerDevil via the Service Manager later is also extremely slow (~20 secs). The only thing I find in .xsession-erorrs which could be related is this - though I'm not really sure it's related at all. Maintainers: * I amended the repo list in kde-reloaded.kiwi so that the KR45 repo for KDE:Extra is used instead of KDF - this caused the rebuild failure since the bluedevil taken from KDF needs Qt 4.7.0, which is unresolvable in KR45. * publish is disabled on KDE:Medias to prevent the package filename and the links at the above page breaking. If you enable publish, tell me so I can fix the links.
