Problems with the SusE 8.2 and XMMS

Hello I just upgraded my system from Windows to SuSE 8.2 and everything worked well. However now I've got the problem that I double-click on a drive shortcut on my desktop and it will open XMMS instead of a folder. Is anybody able to tell me how I get the folder view back? How can a specific view profile be automatically loaded when Konqueror is launched

Hello Friends, I need your help in a little matter. I have saved my preferred view profile in Konqueror under the name A_profile. Each time I launch Konqueror, I want it to load this profile. I have searched in "Settings ---> Configure Konqueror", but did not find a way to do this. Thank you. - Ram

Konqueror problem with fonts under suse 8.1

Hi list, I'm facing a strange problem with konqueror under suse 8.1: When I'm visiting sites like www.google.com I get little squares instead of the right font. This behaviour doesn't occur on every site. I already switched the automatic encoding selection to iso8859-1 but without success. Your help is greatly appreciated Sebastian Pokutta

SuSE 8.2 & KMail

Hi there, I've been using SuSE 8.0 with KDE 3.1 for quite some time now. I've recently decided to upgrade to SuSE 8.2 - actually a clean install. For some time I kept both until I was finally convinced that everything went my way with 8.2 - except for KMail that unfortunately I haven't tested. Now I have only SuSE 8.2 with KDE 3.1.1 (default) and KMail is not working; well it works but only for receiving email - it doesn't send any messages. I've copied from my old home directory all the files concening KMail - kmailrc and Mail (containing the actual emails) so it was supposed to work just fine. enabling mouse wheel with acrobat reader...

hello friends, the wheel of my PS2 mouse is not working with acrobat reader. i wish to scroll my documents. i have suse 8.2. i have looked for my mouse settings in the control center and i have also looked in acrobat reader's preferences menu item, but did not find anything related to the mouse wheel. please help. thanks a lot. - ram. --

Adding menu entires from an RPM install???

Hello all, I have made an RPM for SLES 8 and need to add an entry to the user's desktop menus in KDE and Gnome. These RPMs will be installed during a network install (see the problem in this processes below). How do I do this? I see that when desktop entries are placed here they work: /etc/opt/{kde3,gnome}/share/... **** But I ran into a problem **** I now have these desktop menu entries for the RPM that I have built: /etc/opt/gnome/SuSE/System/Configuration/myapp.desktop /etc/opt/gnome/share/gnome/distribution-menus/SuSE/System/Configuration/myapp.desktop /etc/opt/gnome/share/gnome/distribution-menus/SuSE/System/myapp.desktop /etc/opt/kde3/share/applnk/SuSE/Settings/myapp.desktop /etc/opt/kde3/share/applnk/SuSE/System/Configuration/myapp.desktop /etc/opt/kde3/share/applnk/SuSE/System/myapp.desktop This works well when installed on an existing system. Importing from Pegasus to Kmail...

Hello Friends, I am trying to import my mail from Pegasus mail that is on my Windows drive. I have copied the entire pmail directory into my home directory in Linux. I open the following menu options in Kmail: Tools --> Import --> Import Folders From Pegasus-mail( *.CNM, *.PMM, *MBX) and click Import. Kmail says the following: Counting files... Importing new mail ('.cnm')... Importing mail folders ('.pmm')... Importing 'Unix' mail folders ('.mbx')... kmail has adopted the (new) folders and messages But, I don't see anything in KMail. What am I doing incorrectly? Thank you very much. - Ram.

Haia Is there a program in Kmail or kde what can get the email automaticly when a message comes in? I'm using SuSE 8.2. Thanks -- Greetings from /bill at 169 west , 19 south. My holy cow is a penguin.
