KDE 3.1.1 update woes

Hi All, Well I have to say "me too" on this update as things just did not go well when using the SuSE supplied KDE files. First of all my kmail went blank and would not display any mails. Fixed that by going to the settings and selecting Use Custom fonts. Chose a font that looked good and displayed good, so all is well there. I did notice while playing with QT, going back to the previous version, that the font display is much better in the new version 3.1.2! It does a very good job of working with the fonts. Can't do sub-folders any longer with kmail as David pointed out, although not a big problem for me, so probably won't miss it. Next little bug I ran into was Konqueror and displaying some sites. Can't display any of SuSE sites any longer as the text is just not there! Same problem with say http://www.cnnsi.com and http://packman.links2linux.de/, some graphics, some text, but mostly blank. What is that all about? KDevelop is really kinda flakey right now too as Steven pointed out and complained about. Makes it difficult to do any programming with that now. KWord gives sig11 when trying to do a print preview. Noatun won't play a mpeg movie clip. Some of these, while being bothersome, don't affect much in day to day operation, but others are proving to be a big PITA! Anyone else experiencing the problem with Konq on those sites? What about KWord crashing? I think Steven has found a few things to do about KDevelop, but his is still not playing nice with the system. Thoughts, suggestions or fixes anyone? problems installing qt_3.1.1

I am trying to install qt_3.1.1 on SuSE 8.1 from sources. I put all the stuff in /usr/local/qt and then: ./configure -thread, gmake, gmake install. kmail folders

Hi, sometimes Konqueror 3.1 crashes so I'm trying to upgrade to KDE 3.11. I use Suse 8.1. ...but I can't find kdegraphics3.rpm on Suse's Ftp. http://www.suse.de/de/private/download/linuks/i386/update_for_8_1/extra.html links for kdegraphics3 to ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/supplementary/KDE/update_for_8.1/applicati… which does not exist. At the same page there is an entry for kdegraphics3-3D. The description of kdegraphics3-3D and the description inside the kdegraphics3-3D rpm is simply wrong. It's Kpovmodeller and not "base libs for KDE graphics applications": "kdegraphics3-3D 3.1.1: Basisbibliotheken für KDE Grafikprogramme. Die Programme können in folgenden Paketen gefunden werden: kdegraphics3-fax kdegraphics3-kamera kdegraphics3-postscript kdegraphics3-scan kdegraphics3-tex kdegraphics3-extra" Where (and when) can I find kdegraphics3.rpm. The file disappeared at the SuSe site, don't ask me why. Kmail 1.5.1 Gnupg 1.0.7

Hi I want to sign my mail with gnupg. I generate a keypair and it works well. but with KDE 3.1.1 and KMail 1.5.1 i cannot sign my mail anymore. Everytime i try to sign, i get the message that my password is incorrect and i have to try it again. But i know that the password is fully correct. lost kmail message bodiy after upgrade

I just upgraded my kde to the latest via apt-get (kde3.1.1), Now I cannot see the body of my messages. I have tried changing fonts and font/background colors but still cant see the message. The Subject list and the Folder lists are just fine. If I double click on a message header a window pops up but it too is blank. Can anyone tell me what to change to get my messages back via KMail?? Mozilla works fine but I prefer kmail. TIA Richard

Speed of shipping was excellent, but if heaven forbid you recieve some DOA parts then your money is gone. I'm out $120.00 (us) (more than 10% of the total project cost) and my time, as well as being hesitant to ever shop online again. Since I have been using this sig I have recieved mail from others w/ nearly identical experiences. Had all the parts I wanted been available locally (within 50 miles) I would have probably bought locally. The savings (had there been any) of buying on line would have been less than $100, this does not take into account the expense of a replacement motherboard or return shipping for the dead mb. My suggestion - buy locally if you can.
