Hello openSUSE Community We would like to invite you to participate in our wallpaper contest for the release of openSUSE 12.3. We have our submissions concentrated at http://www.flickr.com/groups/opensuse-artwork/ Please find and request artists to participate in this contest. The guidelines are detailed in my last email and also at the Flickr page. Please look for those images that you can submit to our contest. the more the better and be ready for next week to vote for the last 10 images. During this week, the artwork team will reception the images on flikr.com for them to decide on the finalists. Thank you for your participation. [opensuse-project] Standing up for the Board

Hi All I would like to stand up for the board elections this year. My Primary Goals during this time : 1. Organizing Programs like GSoC and other programs that encourage new contributors to come-in 2. Knowing where all the funds come from and into. Pretty much all that comes to us is from SUSE. But there are donations from the community during oSC's which are totally unaccounted for. I believe before a foundation comes into place, the Board should be able to keep a track of whatever little funds that come from other sources should be accountable to the community. 3. Correspondence - The Board should have good correspondence with the community. [opensuse-project] snapper snapshot comparison algorithm

hello, I wanted to know what algorithm snapper uses for snapshot comparison? From what i have interpreted, it does a block by block compare. I also wanted to know how the directories are 'diff'ed and if there is a scope of improvement in the current implementation. Also, if anyone has taken it up yet. [opensuse-project] Design Ideas 12.3 Results

These are the results from the open question asked to the list about the design ideas or themes that will guide our thoughts in choosing artwork for openSUSE 12.3. The idea is to help our contributors and voters to make choices that match a style guide. That way, the chosen artwork will achieve a sense of unity. The themes provided could also make it into the future as a long lasting definition of openSUSE's artwork. If these themes were to be placed together we get something like this: 1. Simplicity 2. Clarity 3. Impact/Memorable 4. Unity Other thoughts included the idea of being new and contemporary, which can be achieved easily by following the guidelines above. Keep in mind also that there are things that simply escape the arm of our artwork. A designer we tend to push the envelope into areas that likely are not achievable on software. Let's keep this in mind. Please now, if you can, define these concepts in your own words. That way we can get more understanding from each person about these design themes. Simplicity can mean many things for different people, so the more we acquire a strong concept of these themes, the easier it will get for selection.
