= Board Meeting Monday 2024-02-12 13:00 CET = * Present: Doug, Gerald, Gertjan, Neal, Patrick, Simon == This meeting's logistics == * Thanks to the Heroes we got a new calendering system, which includes board meetings * https://calendar.opensuse.org/teams/board * AI: Neal to reach out to Heroes re (missing) e-mail notifications * The board proceeds to import the calander event to their personal calanders == Boxed Sets DVD == * Simon is wondering whether we can get boxed sets DVDs for contributors and use at events. * Doug shares historic background and how in 2024 demand for DVDs is very low, not making it viable business for a third party any more. * Do USB keys instead? Other branded merchandise? * Opportunity cost? == Membership == * Formally request the membership officials to add two more people * AI ddemaio: sent email to members and board * Discuss a better system for recording and assessing members once we have more officials, including trying to recover lost list of Emeritus Members from a connect backup. == FOSDEM Update == * geekos.io had success accepting donations for Goods at a booth. == Private Topics == * Should we keep private minutes in a private ticket in code.o.o rather then just via email? = Board Meeting Monday 2024-01-29 13:00 CET = * Present: Doug, Gerald, Neal, Patrick, Simon, Gertjan * Excused: Mau * Missed: * Minutes by: * Guests: Georg == Handover from the 2023 Board to the 2024 Board == * In a nutshell the handover is extending Patrick's tenure and Simon replacing Mau * Board thanks Mau for all the work done during their Board membership * Gerald and Neal took care of adjusting various groups and access rights for Board's communication and issue tracking * Simon to review and update https://en.opensuse.org/[1] openSUSE:Board_best_practices#Joining_the_Board == openSUSE Logos == * Any ultimate decision to change the logo, let alone how, has not been made yet. * WIP, Doug will (re)share process on project@, following his December 16th email on the project@ ML * Consensus is : ** (a) align with SUSE and ** (b) put out any logo change for a vote by openSUSE membership, options to be provided by design team. == TSP == The TSP ( Travel Support Program ) will now be handled by the Geeko Foundation - https://geekos.org/[2] - SUSE will provide funding to the Geeko Foundation and thus continue to sponsor that program Users will need to become familiar with new procedures and limitations. Heads up Leap 15.6 Beta will be delayed

Hello openSUSE! Yesterday was a code submission deadline for SLES 15 SP6 Public beta and Leap 15.6 Beta. SLES 15 SP6 Public Beta announced a slip as there were a lot of recent changes and further testing is needed. And therefore we're announcing the slip as well. We can use more time to focus on pending Python-related submissions including GNUHealth. If you have any late feature/package additions aside from bugfixes, that you'd still like to add to Beta, it would be nice corresponding request in https://code.opensuse.org/leap/features/issues Roadmap was already updated to propose March 8th for Beta as a new date. https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Roadmap#Schedule_for_openSUSE_Leap_15.6 I'd like to integrate project roadmaps into https://calendar.opensuse.org/teams/product-schedule once https://github.com/openSUSE/calendar-o-o/issues/25 is resolved. openSUSE contribution workshops

Hi all, During tonight's community meeting, we felt that having openSUSE Contribution Workshops where people can volunteer to present and give a short monthly workshop with the goal of helping to teach people how to contribute. This could involve either packaging, using obs, creating a test for openQA, how to do translations, involvement of infra, etc. Please consider signing up for an episode with inputting the subject, your name, if you want it to be recorded and list the date and time you would like to provide a session.
