Hello everyone,
I'm sending a question here want it's now more than 6 months that I'm trying
to build a localised live CD of openSUSE with SuseStudio. Everything is fine
but I encounter a very big problem:
If I install the RPM Yast2-live-installer, the desktop file (on the desktop
or in the menu) asks via kdesu the live user for a root password. I've tried
many things (adding the user to sudoers, changing the parameters of the
desktop file, empty root password, etc...) but nothing does it right.
See here for a history:
http://n2.nabble.com/yast2-live-installer-asks-for-root-password-tp3344533e…
When I run the official oS live CD, everything goes fine: no password asked.
So I ask the question to some openSUSE GURU's who build these
official live CD:
What's the secret of the live CD?
I can't imagine distributing a live CD that asks for a password to install
itself on the computer and I don't want to make unsafe things like
"autologin as root" (someone gave me that as solution).
Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi,
I manage a local repository for openSUSE distribution in Indonesia. Is
there any reason why the iso dvd is hidden or missing on stage server?
I'm trying to rsync from
rsync.opensuse.org::opensuse-full/opensuse/distribution/11.3-Milestone1/iso/
but the url only provided the iso cd for milestone. Is this related to
official news regarding milestone or do I missed something?

Hi,
I completely agree, changing the homepage to www.google.co.uk is one
of the first things I do after I install openSUSE.
If the homepage was, as Ubuntu's is, similar to google but with some
openSUSE branding, I wouldn't even consider changing it. When I had
Ubuntu installed I didn't think about changing the home page.

Hi,
I was just looking at the products available on the openSUSE shop:
http://shop.opensuse.org/shop-eu.html and I was surprised to find that
the only currency the prices are given in is Euros, this would put me
off of buying from this site as I wouldn't know how much I was
spending and I'm sure others would have similar concerns.
I think every other online shop I have seen/used has had at least an
approximate reference in other currencies, which can be selected by
the user, a good example of this is www.yesasia.com, who make a point
of telling the customer their own currency is there for reference only
and isn't the exact price.
This feature would be very simple to implement, and I believe it would
be a huge benefit to the openSUSE shop. There could be a simple lookup
of Euros to a range of popular currencies, and based on the currency
the user has selected (which could be stored in a cookie) a simple
calculation could be done and the approximate price could be
displayed, in brackets alongside the actual price, which would still
be in Euros.

P.S. sorry if I am sending this to the wrong people, but I wasn't sure
where to send it.

Ok people, yeasterday i got finally accepted into Factory the latest 2
LXDE packages, LXDM and xmms2 (and now lxmusic can finally build)
yast2 pattern icons has been already pushed into yast svn: [1]
and even the new pattern has been submitted for merge into gitorious [2]
Jiri Srain, from yast developers told me that before upgrade obs
yast2-theme package he want to be sure new pattern is already merged
into his package, so i wonder to know who and when is supposed to review
such merging request (i'm asking because it's almost time for the first
mile stone and i would like to begin testing as soon as i can)
just a couple of other things. Can somebody change this feature [3]
status? it's no more Unconfirmed.
And to finish, now we also need LXDE as Component in bugzilla (openSUSE
>= 11.3) i will be the bug owner
Regards
Andrea

Hello list-mates,
The landing page (www.opensuse.org) has been without news for some days (maybe
there's a problem with the rss feed?). Also, the language drop-down menu at
the bottom doesn't work (tested with Konqueror and Firefox).
Could anyone take a look at it?
Greetings,

Hi,
I am planning an openSUSE booth at Chemnitz Linux Days 2010 [1] in Chemnitz
(Germany) March 13th and 14th.
As all of you might imagine: I NEED YOU TO HELP!
I am looking for volunteers that want to help running the booth, so if you have
some spare time March 13th and 14th drop me a note and help spreading the word
about openSUSE at Chemnitz Linux Days 2010.
Thanks,
Jan

Moin,
don't miss to submit a presentation for LinuxTag, Berlin June 9-12, 2010.
The openSUSE project again tries to get a room for an one day openSUSE
conference (call for papers would be later for that one) but maybe you having
a topic which goes beyond the openSUSE project itself or is so interesting
that it should be covered in one of the conference main tracks of LinuxTag.
Best
Michael

As long as the program calls "gs" via system it is just use and does
not impose license requirements the calling programs.
Most of those programs do it that way.
I am not aware that ghostscript exposes libraries?
