We are basically done with the 12.2 translations--thanks for all your
work!
ATM, I prepare an online update for desktop files
(https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=774339). And a release
notes update is probably due next week.
If you think other updates are needed, please create bugzilla entries.
Next week I'll probably create the 12.2 branch and the trunk will be
open for openSUSE:Factory again.

Hi everybody,
We are very close to openSUSE 12.2 release day, currently most of the content
of http://en.opensuse.org/Portal:12.2 already available, welcome everyone to
translate it to your prefered language or any others.
There is still work in progress until release day, but will not have a big
change, therefore this is a good point of time to prepare translation work,
the Portal:12.2 page consists mainly by these 3 parts below, if somebody want
to step up, might started from there would be good.
1) http://en.opensuse.org/Portal:12.2/Intro
2) http://en.opensuse.org/Portal:12.2/Features
3) http://en.opensuse.org/12.2_Features
Cheers,
Max

Hi,
I just had the time to take a look at opensuse-org.po and I'm a little bit
confused.
1.) First entry is 'en' (comment: type: Attribute 'lang' of: <html>; file
en/index.shtml:2)
- Am I supposed to translate it to my locale country code? Say for Germany to
de?
2.) Fifth entry is "search in blog-posts" (untranslated), when I look at
opensuse.org I already find that string translated into german.
Accident/Purpose?
3.) Many entries consist of large html syntax fragments, where I'm not sure
what to translate. Shouldn't it be possible to just extract the parts that
need to be translated?
Should the value="en" be translated to value="de" in the following example?
(4th entry)
"<input type="hidden" name="language" value="en" /> <select id="searchscope"
name="searchscope">"
Is there anything that needs to be translated in the next example? (9th entry)
"</select> <input type="text" name="searchstring" class="textfield" /> <input
type="image" alt="run search" title="run search" class="searchbutton"
src="http://static.opensuse.org/hosts/www.o.o/images/frontpage/magnifier.png"
/>"
Hope someone can help to clarify this :-)
Regards,
Michael

Hi Everyone,
I noticed this string in trunk/lcn/50-pot/zypp.pot
msgid "%s already executed as %s)"
Is that closing bracket intended? Shouldn't it be non-translateable?

Hello everyone!
We are thinking about what's the best way to have the landing page in both
Castilian Spanish and Latin American Spanish.
Yesterday I realised that the Castilian Spanish translation of www.o.o/es had
been overwritten with a Latin American Spanish translation. I think it's due
to the change in the workflow (translating from a html file to a pot file)
which took place some months ago.
Besides that, some parts that were already translated (such as "openSUSE 12.1:
All Green!) were lost. Now we have that part in English.
There have been several changes (like the migration to github). I suppose it
would have to look for some revision on svn.opensuse.org to get the old html
file with the complete Castilian Spanish translation. Any hints where to
start?
Anyways, it seems the landing page script https://github.com/openSUSE/landing-
page/blob/master/index.php would have to be modified since some browsers have
es (Castilian Spanish) and es-419 (Latin American Spanish), whereas others
have lots of Spanish variants, such as Firefox. It looks to me that the
current script isn't designed with language variants in mind.
So, I would have two directories "es" and "es-lat" and check the language; if
it's "es" or "es_ES", I would redirect the visitor's browser to www.o.org/es,
and for the rest of es variants (including es-419) → www.o.org/es-lat (take a
look at the patch).
Does it make sense?
Greetings,

Hi,
Slideshow POT file has still 12.1 entries instead of 12.2.
I reported it on bugzilla:
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=774765
So, expect to have a POT file update and have a very short time to update it.
