Would it be possible to make pages like
https://yast.github.io/contributing.html for some of the more major
projects? I find this new design looks better than the current wiki
design. It would also be neat if we could theme the "What can I do for
OpenSUSE" page to match this, it would give us a really consistent
appearance.

That sounds like a great idea! I think we may be able to get more than 3
people if we ask in the forums + mailing list! I would be willing to
help with this, assuming the topics are things I have knowledge about.

It's not just you, Mathew Carrick seems to not be email the list either,
and instead has to email me directly... some sort of weird IP
ban/rejection issue?

Hi
We need at least 150 tasks to apply :

Please fill in the tasks here if you are interested to mentor and I
can take the application forward.\

Hi guys
Just learned that SUSE project on github has been the wrong project for us -
after Benjamin and me got access to it. :-(
Anyway, I would like to request write access to the openSUSE project on github
for our trainee
"Benjamin Hertwig" <bhertwig(a)suse.com>
github login: bhertwig
since his task will be to give our existing Suspend/Hibernate stresstest tool
an upstream repository. It should be publically visible.
It would be helpful for me also to be in this group, since I'm acting as tutor
for him. And so I still would have write access to this tool, after he has
left our team.
"Stefan Dirsch" <sndirsch(a)suse.com>
github login: sndirsch
Would this be possible?
Thanks,
Stefan

Subject: [GSoC Mentors] Google Code-in org registration is now open!

Hi Mentors,
Organization Applications are now open for Google Code-in 2015. You can
go to the program site [0] to start your registration and application by
hitting the “Enter Contest Site” button.
The deadline to complete all 3 steps of your application (Org profile,
Org application and assigning 2 Org Admins) is next Wednesday, November
11th at 17:00 UTC.
We will announce the accepted organizations a couple of days later, on
Friday, November 13th, giving accepted orgs 3.5 weeks to enter tasks and
invite their mentors for the contest.
We plan to accept up to 15 organizations for Google Code-in 2015, a 25%
increase over 2014. This should attract more students and also spread
out the workload amongst more orgs as well.
_New Web app for Google Code-in_
Our biggest change this year is the launch of our new web app that the
contest will run on. Many of you are used to Melange but we hope you
will find this new application easier to use and with some of the added
functionality that many of you have requested for the last few years. We
can’t make every change that is requested but we did read all of the
comments left behind by students and mentors multiple times and tried to
implement as many as we could while still keeping the web app as
streamlined as possible.
Filing bugs
We realize there will be bugs and we ask that you please use this form
[1] to submit your bug and we will address it as soon as we can.
Logo upload instructions
When completing your org profile you will need a 300x300 transparent
logo. Please see our FAQs [2] on tips for making your logo transparent.
If you have any questions please contact us at gci-support(a)google.com
<mailto:gci-support@google.com>.
We are looking forward to our biggest and best Google Code-in yet!
Best,
Stephanie Taylor

Thanks Kostas, that sounds great! For the time being I have gone through
the opensuse git repos and added what I thought was good to add to the
lists.
If anyone wants to know how to help with the site just follow the
instructions on the README file here:
https://github.com/alanbortu/asknot-ng/blob/develop/README.md
To edit the questions, check the asknot-ng/questions directory. We would
use the opensuse file and ignore/remove the others. The
asknot-ng/questions/includes/openSUSE directory is where all the actual
questions for each section are stored. Please feel free to send any PRs
as I am not sure what kind of stuff we have for some of these items.

I also check mozilla's website and it looks cool to have for newcomers.
I could suggest to add a difficulty indicator or difficulty level
inside each topic.
