Hi All, Please vote / comment the following openFATE request: https://features.opensuse.org/308307 Developers help translators with screenshots Translating GUI is not easy task. This is not a simple translation but localization. We would like to provide usable interface for non-english users. Developers could help a lot if they could create screenshots to help translator's work. This screenshots could upload somewhere in opensuse filesystem infrastructure and developers could put the screenshot URL in the source code as translation comment. [opensuse-translation] software.opensuse.org not usable in Konqueror

I tried to use Konqueror to connect to software.opensuse.org and ended up on software.opensuse.org/111/nl which is OK. However the webpage does not look nice. Hi, I added software-opensuse-org to all languages. It contains the texts of a new download web page we're currently developing. It's far from complete, but we need to collect experience with translating web pages with po files. http://software.opensuse.org/developer2 is the currently deployed version and it will redirect to e.g. http://software.opensuse.org/developer2/da Feel free to take a look, but only start translating it if it's ok for you that it will change (possibly a lot). But it will be good to have early feedback. Hellow, I just tried to boot image from http://download.opensuse.org/factory-snapshot/iso/openSUSE-GNOME-LiveCD-i68… and I see an old Lithuanian translation of boot menu. I updated the /lcn/lt/po/bootloader.lt.po at about 8 of october. So update of boot (grub) meniu translation is needed. Hi, It's only a topic for very few, but I would like to rework the way the summaries and descriptions are translated - after having it left stale for almost 3 months after we opened factory and turned off our package database that handled the translations so far. One huge problem is that in the pdb we translated richtext while now we only have what's in the spec file - raw text. And as such only little descriptions map and I would like to experiment with mapping this. So what I ask you: please do not touch trunk/packages at the moment. Because of https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=530192, I'd like to raise coolo's mail again. I think bug 530192 is somehow related. If not, the cause of the trouble might be that you fixed the wrong translation upstream, but the package with the proper translation was not updated in openSUSE thus far. Not sure whether we must pull in POT files now or post-GA again. Because of a whitespace issue (bnc#538245) I've had to touch almost every update-desktop-files-yast.*.po file. Hi, Looking throught the statistics page I found the file kiwi.pot as part of the lcn directory (seems that the file was created 1 day ago) What should we do? Translate it ou ignore it? Another thing that I found. Some languages has differents numbers of strings in some files compared to the templates. For example: pt_BR update-desktop-files-kde 1910 / 1915 (template) es country 179 / 174 (template) printer 441 /412 (template) yast-apparmor 414 / 509 (template) and so on. Any hints on that? [opensuse-translation] Indiscriminated merges that are not fuzzied

Hi, in the galician translation team we are suffering some indiscriminated merges that merge in translations that are outdated, incorrect, that don't match with the original and that are not in galician. But the worst part is that the merged translations are not marked as fuzzy so we have to correct and change the translations over and over. It is a hard, repetitive and unnecessary work, and we are losing translators because of that! So, please make the merges go fuzzied or completely disable the merges. Preferably the first one, because we want suggestions, not erroneous automatic translations. The first WebYaST files are now available for translation. There is a deadline: end of October. The files are in the "webyast" module of the suse-i18n SVN (trunk), next to "lcn" and "yast". [opensuse-translation] Moblin and openSUSE

Dear Michael, We read a lot these days about a Moblin based on openSUSE that could be released in a few months, even before end of the year, prehaps. As it's said that it would be based on openSUSE, I'm inquiring what is planned for localisation of this. I'm planning to localize Moblin (upstream) but I wondered if all the languages present in both openSUSE and Moblin would be present on the official Moblin SUSE? Or are you gonna choose only the mainstream and marketable languages, especially for the OEM versions? Is there gonna be a downloadable version? Or should we only use Goblin if we don't buy it with a computer? Is there going to be a community driven flavor of openSUSE or a more commercial product? And last but not least, what are the release plan, as the one from Moblin (still in beta) is quite unclear?
