Liebe Benutzer und Macher von openSUSE, mag noch jemand anders zu der Diskussion zu dem Thema etwas beitragen, wie ein Verzeichnis für Softwarepakete und Metadaten - auf Englisch in openSUSE: repository, pl.: repositories - im neuen deutschsprachigen openSUSE-Wiki genannt werden sollte? Dies bezieht sich auf die Bezeichnung, die in Artikelnamen (außer Weiterleitungen) und meist im Text (außer in Einleitungen) benutzt werden soll. Bei Interesse wäre es schön, wenn Ihr die folgende Diskussionsseite besuchen könntet: http://dewiki.opensuse.org/Diskussion:Paket_Repositories (bis Ende Montag). Dear users and makers of openSUSE, does someone else like also to contribute to the discussion on the matter how a directory for software packages and metadata - in English in openSUSE: repository, pl.: repositories - should be named in the new openSUSE-Wiki for German language? This is referring on the term that should be used in names of articles (apart from redirects) and in the text (apart from introductions). Hello, I want to translate openSUSE in Bengali. The language already exists in the i18n queue. But, the problem is, the project coordinator, Mr. Jamil Ahmed is not responding to my queries. I have been sending him mails for three weeks now but still no result. He has not translated or managed translation after version 11.2! I hope that you will allow me to translate openSUSE into Bengali by adding me to the group. [opensuse-translation] Starting with 11.5, creating 11.4 branch

I just created the 11.4 branch: https://svn.berlios.de/svnroot/repos/opensuse-i18n/openSUSE-11_4-Branch I hope, I got it right. I created it, because we now have the first 11.5 related files (e.g., snapper), that do not belong to 11.4. Nevertheless, if you want to fix something 11.4 related, please submit to the branch! The first 11.4 translation maintenance on-line update is out, but we will probably need another one. [opensuse-translation] Italian Wiki, problems with "Portals"

Hi All, in the italian version of the wiki we are having some troubles traslating portals. In this page [1], i have just translated some sub-pages ( .../Intro .../Search ...). As you can see the same code that in the english version refers to the sub-pages (.../Portal:Hardware/Intro) which I have just spoken about, now refers to ../Template:Portal/Intro and doesn't work. Why? Is this a bug? [opensuse-translation] Easy way to find shortcut collisions?

Hi all, a problem I find when I translate .po files is about collisions between shortcuts. In particular, it is not so easy to decide where to put the & (or _) in translated strings in order to ensure that each shortcut is unique. One possibility (for yast) is to generate .mo files and then to check the result. However this approach is quite slow and not all modules can be checked (e.g., when corresponding hardware is not available). Do you know an easy way to find shortcut collisions? Analysing /var/log/YaST2/y2log I am able to find some collision but I still need to launch yast and go throw several configuration steps in order to point out conflicts. [opensuse-translation] Testing update-desktop-files translations

Hi all, I have set up an openSUSE 11.4 in virtualbox in order to test translations of update-desktop-files since some entry in the K menu is not translated even if it translated in the update-desktop-files.po. The problem is that I do not know how to generate the desktop_translations.mo file that contains translations from update-desktop-files.po files. I know how to generate a .mo file from a single .po file (e.g., when I test YaST translations) but if I try with update-desktop-files.po files, the resulting .mo file is not like the original desktop_translations.mo Any hint?
