Hi all,
I saw a call for participation in the openSUSE Board elections and as I
noticed that there might not be enough candidates, I decided yesterday
to participate, wrote a kinda platform and made sure I actually can try
to become Board member (got Ok from HR). So I got everything ready to
submit my application and at that moment I saw that Kostas just decided
in the end to run for reelection. That got me thinking as I'm really
glad for the work Board did in the past and I support them and with
Kostas joining, we have three really good candidates... It makes
submitting my application partially pointless as I believe that current
candidates will be a good fit for the project. On the other hand, having
the same amount of candidates as the positions open doesn't sound right,
so lets make it at least a little bit competition :-)
With those words, I would like to announce my intend to run for the
Board. Good luck to all the candidates, nothing is set in stone now :-D

Call to action, the organization of oSC15 is behind. It is important
that we all pull together and get moving very quickly to make the
event a success. oSC is our event where we meet, chat, hack, and have
fun. Thus it should be in everyone's interest to pitch in.
Later,
Robert

Dear all,
I found enable-linker-build-id option was enabled on gcc48/49.
According to gcc manual, the option is disabled by default.[1]
Why does suse need the option?
--enable-linker-build-id
Tells GCC to pass --build-id option to the linker for all final links (links
performed without the -r or --relocatable option), if the linker supports
it. If you specify --enable-linker-build-id, but your linker does not
support --build-id option, a warning is issued and the
--enable-linker-build-id option is ignored. The default is off.[2]

Hey Guys
We will like to start preparing for GSoC and as every year, we will
like some new admins to step up and help us organize GSoC.
A few things that I think an admin will be doing :
1. Be a contact point between mentors, students and Google.
2. For Financial issues
3. Edit the wiki and keep it upto date
4. Invite mentors
5. Maintain Google Melange
I, and Manu will be around for help :)

Regards,.

Have a lot of fun!
