Hello, I have few questions / problems: 1) Is it possible to translate somewhere content of http://www.opensuse.org/ ? I had translated some parts, but not all... Moreover, at least on Czech version is still article about release of 11.2 (there is only change in headline, but the article is NOT about 11.3) and screenshots from 11.2... WTF? 2) In SVN I translated site software.o.o including Bento navigation line, descriptions of boxes in panels and so on. But when I go for example to build.o.o or planet.o.o (sites also using Bento), the theme is not translated. Is is possible to translate all Bento stuff on one place to have everywhere same and consistent translation of the navigation line and another stuff? 3) How would it be possible to establish Czech version of planet.o.o? Hello, the on-demand package installation in 11.3 uses an external page at http://help.opensuse.org/ksuseinstall/ to provide additional information about the process, since unfortunately for ugly legal reasons the process cannot be as simple as it might be. Finishing the page took a while, but now it's finally up, and I'd like to ask if there would be people to do translations of it. The pages are hosted at https://svn.berlios.de/svnroot/repos/opensuse/trunk/infrastructure/help.o.o… . I've also attached the english version and I can add the translated versions if you send them to me. [opensuse-translation] Translation of license file

We have translated the license file so far by the Novell translation team for the primary Novell languages. Since this is a legal text, it should be translated by a certified translator that is fluent with such legal texts. [opensuse-translation] Creating openSUSE 11.3 SVN branch

Our develovers already branched the yast source code. To avoid confusion, I'd like to create a similar branch in our localization SVN later this week on Friday (2010-07-09). I'm not sure whether we will actually need the 11.3 branch, though. Please, keep track of translation fixes--we will need rough info about changes in case we want to publish translation online updates. Hi all. According to bnc #380665 which renames "Software Updates" to "Software Updates Preferences" we need translate this string into native languages. This change has appeared after RC1 releasing in factory build 0687 and it´s already in gnome-packagekit.xx.po file in lcn (confirmed by Vincent Untz). [opensuse-translation] An effort to improve the suse/openSUSE pages on Wikipedia

Hi all, I'm cross-posting this to both the wiki and the translation lists, as well as on the Romanian list in the hope that I will receive the broadest possible feedback. There are currently several issues with the way openSUSE is represented on non-english wikipedias: 1) There are different articles in different language (i.e. different articles for Suse Linux, openSUSE, SLES, SLED etc or just one article for all, with basically all the variations in between). 2) There is a lack of coverage for subjects related to openSUSE, like OBS, YaST, zypp etc. 3) The information in the articles might be out of date by up to several years. While I understand that it would be difficult for our global and local communities to also actively maintain the Wikipedia articles, I think we could take some steps to facilitate contributing to Wikipedia articles: 1) Find a common way to develop articles about openSUSE. 1.1 What articles should one start with (openSUSE, Suse Linux, openSUSE Project?) and what parts could get separate articles in a second/third phase? 1.2 How should all the articles relate to each other? 1.3 What resources from the openSUSE wiki could be relevant to the various articles? 1.4 How can one minimize the quantity of information that "deprecates" rapidly? 2) Make sure that relevant images from the openSUSE wiki are also available in Wikipedia. Would it be feasible to use Wikimedia Commons as a repository for some of our free images (at least the screenshots)? I know that any mediawiki installation can use commons as an image repository under certain conditions. 3) Encourage the translators to get involved in writing the Wikipedia articles in their language. How can we do that best? If an openSUSE wiki exists in that language, perhaps we could somehow keep in sync a page on the openSUSE wiki and on Wikipedia? 4) Write all of the above on an wiki page (what title should it have?) :) I'm looking forward to your ideas regarding the points raised in this email. At least from German, I cannot connect to the SVN server: Via http: Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at svn.berlios.de.
